Um, don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but ... Read the manual carefully. Check to see if there's an outlet valve that's not working properly. Clean any outlet points/valves/tubes with a pipe cleaner (the coloured ones for craft work well) or straw size bottlebrush. Even a small blockage may mean that rinse/wash water is re-circulating when it shouldn't be. Also air bubbles in the intake valve may prevent proper water circulation so poke a pipe cleaner in them too (gently).
Do yourself a favor - go the the nearest op shop/Vinnies/Sacred Heart. They ALWAYS have a shittone of backpacks for purchase at very reasonable prices. Quite high end ones too. Just check any purchase for freeloaders before taking home. Or vacuum and freeze to kill any such freeloaders.
Yes, sometimes that's all you can do. And it matters - matters a lot. She needed you to be there to hear her. It hurts to be there but keep listening. Feels.
This does not account for the jam, or the karmic effect incurred in cleaning up the mess. Which is a very high value as sticky jam plus glass splinters is major. Jam by itself - wipe it up. Glass by itself - sweep/vac & blutack. Both, however, is an existential crisis as the mess can neither be wiped nor swept. Even rubber gloves are not safe from the splinters. And don't even mention the vacuum cleaner.
On the other hand, underwater magpies has incurred a major karmic benefit in cleaning it up. This far outweighs the serendipitous collection of a clean empty jar. I wonder how the universe will balance the scales.
Green/underripe pumpkin can be eaten if cooked. Not as much pumpkiny flavour - more like apple but perfectly edible and def not poisonous.
Also, next weekend is going to be warm at 28 deg/29 deg so just may continue to ripen a bit more.
