That, and fir me at least the places I used to read on reddit are gone. They might have been opened up, but they no longer contain content, or contain little interesting content.
Don't know if you have ever visited the US, but I was not expecting what we found. Worst was the constant begging. People tapping on the windows of the car when we stopped at intersections, chasing us around shopping centres and along streets, and begging on train stations, expecting "tips" for returning a bag they had stolen out of my hand (sometimes, jetlag didn't help me be fast enough) or "tips" for giving directions I didn't want, need, or ask for. They constantly expected money to be handed to them.
It was shocking how the roads were broken, the shops had no electronic payment, the coins were worth practically nothing, the paper money was literally paper scrip and not holographic or durable, and the buildings were rotting apart. People were dying on the footpaths. Crowds of dirty people. Rubbish everywhere. But worst was the begging.
Oddly, Canada isn't like that. If you ever visited the US, India is similar, but not unexpected the way the US is.
No idea, but canola has risks of naturally occuring erucic acid, and smells and tastes different to oil made by other plants/vegetables. Hard to describe. A bit like rancid ghee? Bitter and buttery. I will stick to olive oil and peanut oil and butter, thanks. They taste and smell much less unpleasant.
We make our own olive oil here in Australia, and it's pretty cheap by the can. I decant it into snaller bottles to use. Butter and ghee is thought to be better than most fats, yes. But (unburned) animal fat is still not a terrible thing. It's artificial sweeteners and even plain sugar that seem far more dangerous to me.
No idea what you are talking about. I did notice a lot of yank mobile phones didn't need a SIM to function, but that's not a thing here. SIMs are cheap and easy to use, I use them.
I have not heard of anyone having their phone stolen in many years here in Australia.
And yet, you would think I would have seen or heard someone complain about theft before now. Everyone has one. This international location is the only place. Thus my assumption that it is some remote country. Doesn't happen here in Australia.
I could be wrong but I see it as a poorly made comic about "magic healing" and folk medicine. Heathcliff comics are universally awful though, so who knows.
I'm not convinced the yanks had anything in place to deal with that. Look at recent demented presidents.
