  • A statement by the IDF is not proof. If your source is simply quoting the people you are trying to provide a source for, that is not a source.

Headline: IDF claims x. You: here's a source, this website independently verified that the IDF did in fact say X.

You see the issue here, right?

  • Pretty sure that attack was actually done by Israel, if we are talking about the same thing. Hamas fired thousands of rockets because Israel is genociding them, essentially via siege warfare. The media simply decided not to cover all of the preceding heinous shit Israel did to provoke it, because the capitalist class owns the media. You should really start verifying the truth of random news stories you read, because it sounds like you believe the myth being spread by Western media that Israel is the good guy. Israel is committing genocide, and so it really doesn't matter at all what Hamas or Palestine has done in response.

  • Oh, lol honestly I just assumed I was in a different sort of discussion based on your comment. But actually, yes I am, to a degree. Most recreational drugs anyone's heard of are, for the most part, safe enough. Otherwise they wouldn't be widely used. Average functioning adults should be allowed to put whatever they like in their body, provided they're informed of the effects it will have. Gatekeeping getting high is idiotic, when we are fully capable of providing safe places to do it. There are a ton of benefits to mental health in recreational drug use, not to mention that it is fun and nice and so should be acceptable in society, if done safely. And if the government was actually researching which drugs are fun and good when done safely, we wouldn't have to rely on either dealers, our idiot friends, or the Internet to tell us which ones not to do.

  • Hamas has not lied as blatantly as Israel. The death tolls they have reported have typically been corroborated by later independent sources.

What does weapons fire actually imply in a territory subjected to constant bombing and siege warfare? It's not like hospitals are safe from bombings and other attacks, so being armed in a gaza hospital is simply the intelligent thing to do

  • I think US support is critical to Israel being able to genocide, and without it, it may not be capable of genocide at all, given the politics of the region as a whole. Iran wouldn't stand idly by (not that they're necessarily allies against genocide, but for their own interests). I don't know what trump would do, but he did pull us out of Afghanistan, and his politics aren't as tied to the elites' interests as Bidens are. Trump cant profit off the genocide or anything, and he does seem to be somewhat anti war in cases he can't profit off of it. Sure, he might attempt another coup, but that seems favorable to doing nothing while our government aids in a genocide. I'll take a 2nd J6 over a 2nd trail of tears any day.

  • Rights in America are not given by the constitution, they are in-born. The constitution helps enforce your naturally given rights, but it is certainly fallible at this, for example it's initial failing to protect the right to freedom held by slaves.

There are opinions, and there are facts. The right to freedom is a fact. Many of the founders were wrong on one of the foremost issues of their time, slavery, at a time when most of the rest of the world was not wrong about it anymore. As such, we should strongly discount all of their beliefs that are not independently verifiable. For instance, the electoral college. This was created in order to maintain the power of slave owners on government, and should be seen as a tool to oppress the will of the people. The EC is not flawed because it was created by slave owners, but it is suspect due to that, and on further inspection, it turns out to be a tool of oppression.

  • Something more specific than how humans relate to the temperature? Why would that be useful? If you're doing science, you should use Celsius. If you're a regular human being, being affected by temperature, you should use fahrenheit.

  • It's based on how humans feel about heat, which was then translated into ammonium chloride so as not to be arbitrarily based on opinion. Without basing it on a chemical solution, it wouldnt be recreatable.

  • Fahrenheit is roughly a 0-100 scale of "places humans can conceivably live". 0-100 scales are more intuitive than a scale from like -15 to 40, which is approximately what celsius uses for the temperatures humans can live at.
