  • I realize now that I've only tried black and green olives, I wonder what worlds of flavor I'm missing out on.

Also unrelated, but as a kid I thought olives just naturally had pimentos in them.

  • I'm so sorry you had to deal with that. My heart breaks for anyone who happened to see him first.

I hope to see more and more outreach programs for trans youth so they know they're not alone and don't have to listen to such assholes.

  • It's considered a slur when you call a person that who doesn't associate with the term.

This is what you said, and what I was contesting.

And the message discourages use of the word as what is "insulting" is entirely up the the discretion of the moderators. There should be no message, because it is not a slur. There is no historic oppression of cis people. So you don't want to be called cis? Fine, I don't understand it but whatever. But that doesn't make it a slur any more than calling someone "straight" is a slur. Will they put a warning on that, too?

  • Sure, but calling someone cis, even maliciously, or is very far from it being a slur. If they are harassing someone, treat them accordingly. But blanket banning the word, even when used to describe yourself or others non-maliciously, is a clear attempt to make it difficult to talk about trans issues on the platform.

  • But "cis" isn't an identity, it's a way to describe the relationship between your assigned sex and your (gender) identity. I don't identify as cis just like I don't identify as short, it's simply a fact of who I am.

  • Sexual assault can happen to men and boys. Sure, some of them may be "fine" with what happened, but this mentality makes it incredibly difficult for male victims of sexual assault to come forward and get help when they need it. The damage isn't always apparent right away, either.

  • I also recommend trying out FreeCAD and seeing which clicks with you. I found FreeCAD's sketch system more intuitive, though you have to be pretty careful about your order of operations while building your hierarchy.

  • I feel this so hard! Sometimes I wanna be a little quiet, mysterious, wait for them to come to you. But someone says anything that remotely interests me and I'm suddenly jabbering like a turkey.

  • I want to say that stick-built homes are really not so fragile as people seem to think. There's tradeoffs, of course, and ways to build them that make them uncomfortable at best and blatantly unsafe at worst. That being said, they're pretty sturdy, fairly easy to repair and modify, and relatively quick and cheap to build.

  • It's so so so stupid. And if you're not married and don't have a pet, I guess you can go fuck yourself.

I had one that was something like "what did you wish your nickname was when you were 10?"

  • Hi, I don't use TikTok, I don't really give a shit about that particular platform. I do, however, give a shit about the fact that this one platform is being targeted with some "think of the children" rhetoric while American companies get away with the same things (manipulation regarding current events, political propaganda, appeasing the almighty advertisers) without anyone batting an eye.
