Yeah I actually thought she wouldn’t ever officially do it unless it was being timed and pre planned to occur just after the debate in order to have maximum impact.

After the AI image ordeal she released a statement saying "for the safety of her fans" and being mid-tour she wouldn't release a statement until after he tour ended....which coincidentally was after the election.

Maybe she got some blowback because that would be the coward's way out (publicly denounce the orange turd if he lost, or just make it a minor, non-issue if he won), but also being more concerned with the $$ her tour makes by staying out of it.

I'm glad she nutted up and chose a side in this and has some sway with her non-tween rapid fan base. It certainly won't make me atart listening to her music though.

An coworker at my previous job was parroting the border crisis about 6 months ago. I snarkingly mentioned the orange turd's wall and then he hits back

I sat back and was kiiinda dumbfounded, didn't look it up because he's one of those "I ReAd BoTh SiDeS" people who claims they're the most well informed. I immediately dismissed his statement when an even more blatant right-wing knob-slobber repeates the exact same "fighting age men" comment

In my house, the fans are on 100% of the time in my master bedroom and the living room. I rarely turn on the light in the living room because it's super open, and the TV is always on, the kitchen is completely opened to the living room and on the opposite side is floor to ceiling windows. My bedroom fan has constant power to the fan so that's always on and I sure the light switch.

The last few times the fans were not on is when I lost power.

In their new house, my parents put those remote controlled fans in the spare rooms we'd stay in. It's controlled by a switch which is an all-or-nothing. When I stay here holidays (out of state) I prefer to have the ceiling fan on at all times because the room is usually several degrees warmer without it. So to leave the fan on but light off when I'm not in the room, I have to find the remote...that they refuse to mount on the wall in the small case it came in.

The whole premise was on some rando day all screens with sound on earth (kinda live V), started broadcasting a message from the ambassador from the Concordium, and it's all one giant monologue from him. He just says that anytime they find advances, intelligent life in the galaxy they monitor them for roughly 11 of our years to ensure they're advanced enough and are able to exist within their structure and harmony. But it took less than 3 for them to determine we are not, cannot and never will functionally capable of it. One cited example is there at 10 individuals on the planet with enough wealth and resources to legitimately end hunger and poverty, and advance the civilization 100 years in maybe 10, but they'd rather burn the planet and let over 1/3 of the population suffer just to increase their already obscene wealth. Others include individuals damaging or killing themselves and others in displays of barbarism for mere entertainment, hate based on superficial features, and constant warring not towards the advancement of peace and prosperity but material goods and archaic resources that only further destroy the planet. As a result, our solar system is considered quarantined; they will not enter it, nor are we allowed to leave. If we attempt to they will eliminate us so we don't poison the rest of the galaxy as we have our own planet. Only twice have they encountered warring species similar to us, and both times their intention was to try and build advanced warships to conquer their way out of their solar system, but because of their nature they both ended up destroying themselves and their planets for control.

It ends with the transmission being cut, and the ambassador being asked if he thinks this could make humans unify and work towards the goal of bettering themselves to the point of being welcomed into the Concordium. He replies it has never happened in their recorded history

It's not so much technobabble, but from mid-TNG on through DS9 and VOY it seemed that, at least once per episode, "Some kind of..." was used to describe anything new.

What blew my mind about that whole intro is they hid the entire ship UNDERWATER AT THE SHORELINE with a severe risk of damage to the local terrain and sea life instead of, you know, being in orbit.
