  • If I'm paying $900 for a phone, you'd better believe that 4K30 is the barest of bare minimums I'm expecting that rear camera to do unless it's a deliberate tradeoff for something more ethical like a Fairphone. The Pixel 9 base model can shoot at 4K60 and 1080p240 (256 GB and the same $900 price). "Good AI features" lmfao blow it out your ass, Asus. I wonder where this comparison chart is coming from anyway.

  • At this time we permit content that is infuriating until an infuriating community is made available.

    !actually_infurating@lemmy.world exists

Thus Rule 7 shouldn't say that anymore. I'll PM Tenthrow (the only active mod) and ask them to redirect to that community.

  • "My teacher is soliciting me for sex as a bribe for a better grade. Grrr, I'm so mildly infuriated right now."

Why does mildlyinfuriaring inevitably dilute into shitty meaninglessness wherever it is?

  • Often called the "Citizen Kane of bad films" due to both its cult status as the best bad movie of all time and to the remarkably layered depth of the badness, The Room is a 2003 dark drama indie film written by, produced by, directed by, and starring Tommy Wiseau – an enigmatic eastern European man who originally wrote the film as a play and a book and took inspiration from his favorite classics like A Streetcar Named Desire, Rebel Without a Cause, Citizen Kane, and The Guns of Navarone. Imagine if you took a film that was so truly, earnestly, passionately trying to live among those movies solely for a love of the medium and yet failed completely at emulating every single aspect of them, and you have The Room. I seriously can't recommend it enough; there's not a single movie I can say that I've watched 8 times and would happily watch again except this one.

  • This is a misrepresentation of what they're saying (setting aside that these are two different people who might believe different things). The original comment said they haven't paid attention to the news at all these last few weeks, not that they "haven't been following every piece of news". Categorically, not paying attention at all, paying attention to literally every piece of news, and trying to be vigilant and find the relevant news are three completely separate things, and you brought up one that nobody was doing or suggesting.

  • You insert it rectally and then honk, obviously.

  • That's not "a Yahoo article". Yahoo! News hosts articles from different sources, and this is from some shitty E-tier website called comingsoon.net.

Probably the best source for this currently is the HuffPost.

  • The ship hasn't sailed; the more countries you let do that, the more problematic the precedent becomes. This isn't a binary thing.

  • Then cream of wheat, broth, and mashed potatoes shall you eat. Did your surgeon say if you'll be able to use sauces and spices? If so, a little tiny bit of olive oil followed by some garlic powder and maybe a drizzle of BBQ sauce in the mashed potatoes makes them to down a lot easier (gravy likewise if that's allowed). Heavy whipping cream in vegetable or chicken broth along with some miscellaneous spices like Italian seasoning, garlic and onion powder, pepper, etc. will surely make it less healthy but could make it a bit tastier. Cream of wheat can have some pumpkin spice in it and maybe a drizzle of maple syrup (the real stuff).

That being said, do absolutely none of what I've just said unless your oral surgeon advises you that you can. I would check any notes the surgeon might've given you and call their office to see if maybe this is something the receptionist would know. If not and you're not able to communicate with the surgeon directly, then be conservative: this is your health. If anything, you can rationalize it as a way to get even more out of food once your new implants are here!

Like other commenters have suggested too, if you call their offices, I would ask about meal replacement shakes. The plant-based ones I drink on occasion have 32g of protein, and they have a good flavor and texture and make me feel full for a pretty long while.

  • How dare you!! Here's why you need to be vegan right now by the way grumble grumble grumble

  • Hey, that's okay. It takes strength to recognize, own up to, and grow from it; that's all you can really ask after the fact. Fuck knows I've read like a paragraph of an article before and gotten majorly called out.

  • So you crossed out the part about her staying in prison but didn't bother to re-evaluate the rest of your comment when she denounced Trump and everyone who stormed the Capitol multiple times?

  • My point being I see no reason why Kickstarter can't be for kickstarting the rapid scaling of a free, available-to-all project when it can be for rampant, unadulterated scams. This is easily within the spirit if not the letter of Kickstarter, unlike the scams which fit the letter but not the spirit.
