  • Fun facts:

    1. Yes, that is a framed picture of a spoon.
    2. This is because the props people went down to a nearby furniture store and got whatever they needed, but they never replaced the stock photos inside with anything.
    3. There are multiple shots in this movie featuring framed pictures of spoons.
    4. It's a tradition at live screenings of The Room to hurl spoons at the screen during scenes where these are visible.
  • Honestly, I've gone from not knowing who PCC is to hating her work for its mediocrity to subtly appreciating that sometimes what the world needs in the face of overwhelming AI slop and neo-Nazi comics is someone whose work may not be the best but who enjoys what they do, puts thought and effort into it, and makes the masses exhale through their nose.

  • It's so weird to me that people who defend China's treatment of Uyghurs turn it into a US vs China thing. You can look through my recent history and find me saying that Biden, Harris, and everyone in Congress who clapped for Netanyahu have committed genocide and can rot in hell. Trump, of course, is even worse. This isn't a "muh both sides bad enlightened centrism" thing because this isn't a "sides" issue to begin with. Three of the four major superpowers on Earth right now are authoritarian hellholes, and the EU is on its way to joining them with its shift toward neo-Nazism.

  • What they were doing was textbook sealioning. This information is right there for anyone to find and has been for years.

  • Bruh what? 💀 I chose the highest-profile and arguably best emulators for each major system, let alone that almost every other modern one uses GitHub too. If all of these emulators are flying under the corporate radar, I will deliberately inject myself with rabies and die a slow, agonizing death. I couldn't come up with this shit if I got cross-faded on meth and fentanyl.

Legitimately shocked that this abject fucking nonsense got three upvotes. Want to know how I know Sony knows PCSX2 exists? Two former PCSX2 developers are working on "ports" (read: shitty, subpar emulation) of PS2 games to the PS5. They got their jobs because of their work on PCSX2.

Edit: I'm going to go off a bit more, actually, because I'm sick of living in an era where zero-information dipshits can just say any unresearched, unsubstantiated bullshit online and put it into immediate contention with obvious, demonstrable facts presented with sourcing by a subject matter expert:

    • I've included a Wikipedia article where applicable; these articles will often have links to these emulators being discussed in popular gaming outlets.
    • This doesn't even count emulators like Snes9x, PCSX-Reloaded, and Project64 which are no longer top-of-class but which have their own Wikipedia articles, were wildly popular in their day, and host their code on GitHub.
  • Just a reminder don't have emulators on GitHub.

I don't like GitHub, but this is simply untrue. We host the PCSX2 project on GitHub, and GitHub even donated some amount at one point to the project. The following major, top-of-class video game console emulators (non-exhaustive) are officially hosted on GitHub:

    PlayStation:

    Xbox:

    • xemu (Xbox)
    • xenia (Xbox 360) (previous Wikipedia article deleted)

    Nintendo:

    Sega:

    Atari:

    Misc:

Keep in mind that I've only chosen what I believe is the top one or one of the top ones from major consoles. If I could pick multiple per console, this list would be a mile long.

  • Correct, you're not required to swear on the Internet. That's why there are a trillion other words to use if you're not comfortable with it. "This kind of stupid packing foam." "This kind of annoying packing foam." "This kind of obnoxious packing foam." If you want to say "fucking", then you can just say "This kind of fucking packing foam." The censorship is useless and distracting. Commit to the word you want to say or use another word; nobody's going to punish you for swearsies here, and nobody's going to punish you for not swearsies.

  • OP, it's okay, you can swear on the Internet.

  • Dear Sir/Madam:

Fire! Fire! Help me! 123 Carenden Road. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    All the best,

  • Tbf, Cunningham's law doesn't have a Wikipedia entry unto itself, just a subsection in the biography of the sort-of kind-of coiner of the aphorism. And it's not trying to be scientific or academic; the law is just a light-hearted joke that people are less likely to answer questions on the Internet than they are to correct statements.

  • Yeah, to me, the PlayStation might seriously be one of the ugliest major home consoles of all time (beaten out by the PSOne which looks like a cheap toy). And this isn't even a generational thing: a grey N64 and Sega Saturn stand head-and-shoulders above the PlayStation in terms of looks. Cool how compact it was, at least.
