  • Ah, so that's why he was so eager to change the icon today.

  • It's a shame to see the quality advice I'm missing out on on Reddit.

  • I think that Lurial is a Sith Lord.

  • Coming from the >30 BMI gang, a lot of the food in the West (especially the United States but a lot of other countries are having this problem too) has a shit-ton of calories and very few other nutrients. That's the biggest problem with caloric density, when food has a lot of calories and no nutrients it encourages either obesity or nutrient deficits.

  • Both. Refrigeration is what allows us to store and (I would argue more importantly) transport large amounts of meat, and is as such essential to the industry. However, Capitalism is also key to the meat industry because its lobbyists constantly push for meat subsidies, which is the main reason meat is cheap enough to be something we have every meal instead of once every couple of days.

  • A lot of people stay because of lingering attachment to the platform. As weird as it is, changing the branding subconsciously tells the human brain "This is a new platform" and that makes switching mentally easier.

  • If you have the energy to try I'd say do so, but be careful not to overexert yourself. When it comes to doing good or altruistic things that don't have a lot of direct value to us, we all have different amounts of energy. If that energy runs out, people burn out and stop doing anything. With that in mind, try to do small things here and there. For following your dreams, I'd say to my knowledge we only live once and you should do something you enjoy, and it's possible at any age to change careers, but it's important to be realistic and build a plan before making the jump.

  • Another thing I don't see people talking about much is canned food. Almost all canned food is precooked or otherwise sterilized, and it takes years to expire when the can is left sealed. While cold ravioli isn't the most satisfying meal, it will fill your stomach without making you sick.

  • I'm not speaking from personal experience, but according to some family members in the U.S. military they still suck here, at least in terms of flavor.

  • Can we call it Ex?

  • I more or less view this as seeing someone doing something stupid and responding by pointing my finger and laughing. Ultimately, if Elon is foolish enough to take pride in people laughing at him I don't really care, it's still fun to laugh at him.

  • I don't think they ever get old! On Reddit there's a whole subreddit dedicated to them, but here the contents got to be a bit more consolidated.

  • Yet more proof that each and every company is willing to sell human rights. Some companies price it higher than others, but they all have a price.

  • You live and you learn, or die in this case.

  • They're primarily used in as an ingredient. Often they are suspended in a sweet syrup and are thoroughly mashed to make a pie filling, it's actually not bad.

  • I see. So it's a little bit like how in the U.S. pickles refers to pickled cucumbers, but in other places pickles can refer to other pickled foods. Yams are to sweet potatoes what pickles are to pickled cucumbers.

  • I suppose this is technically true. One could light a bigot and a trans person on fire and both would die a relatively equally agonizing death.

  • You are incorrect Bearistotle. Just because man is by nature a political animal does not mean that bears can not be political animals. Thus, being a political animal does not make you a man.

  • I guess that's a decent enough afterlife.

  • I agree with most of this article except about Discord being Reddit's main competitor. I think Discord has a distinct enough feel that it's almost kinda separate from other social media. It's less so like a platform you make posts on and moreso a big text group with lots of features, which is perfect for some communities but stifling for others.
