I feel like everyone should go through this at least once. It’s eye-opening. Even people who we generally think of as crazy rich, like the average hedge fund manager, are just a drop of water in a pond compared to the ultra-wealthy.
When I first bought my LG TV, the homescreen was great. The cursor-thing with the remote was annoying, but it didn’t really have ads, it had every app I needed, etc.
But it kept updating and then demanding I give it more permissions. Kept getting worse and worse as time went on. So recently I said fuck it, bought an Apple TV, and did a factory reset on the TV. The TV is just a TV now, it has no WiFi access so it doesn’t ever bother me. And the Apple TV is better than the LG OS ever was. Also I can bring the Apple TV to hotels (if they have accessible HDMI ports) which is pretty neat.
I guess I'm searching for another Zelda:BotW. Which isn't Tears of the Kingdom.
I’m confused by this. TotK is very much just BotW but with more. The construction mechanism is really fun, the three overlapping maps are cool, it’s a good time. You get to see how the world of BotW has changed in the intervening time, and being able to make hover cycles to fly around the world is awesome.
If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It’s not 100% accurate but it’s close enough and it’s remarkably good television, one of the best series of all time IMO. It’s readily available on any number of the seven seas, and also streaming from HBO I think.
I love my WASD. I think you pay a bit more for the customization, but I love that aspect. I made mine in orange and blue with the McLaren logo for the meta keys, and the Formula 1 logo for the F1 key. It makes me smile.
This isn't an unpaid debt, it's an illegal campaign contribution by city officials at their taxpayer's expense.
The city can’t tell the Van Andel Arena they aren’t allowed to let Trump come in. And I’m sure they’re essentially obligated to provide a police presence and whatever else they’re charging his campaign for.
The city of Grand Rapids is pretty blue, and its government isn’t conservative. Huge swaths of West Michigan are conservative, and sure there are far more churches in GR than in most cities (it’s the central location for a few flavors of Reformed churches), but still. The city government aren’t exactly Trump supporters.
It is not the city residents being dumb, it is the city government being corrupt.
Grand Rapids isn’t a conservative city government. A lot of the surrounding area is, but GR itself isn’t. We just have the biggest arena around, so all the MAGAts come from all over West Michigan.
The city can’t stop him from campaigning here, they can’t go to the Van Andel arena and say, “No, you aren’t allowed to let Trump in.” They can just charge his campaign for any services provided, and then get shafted when he doesn’t pay.
Vaping is absolutely healthier than smoking. It’s not healthier than “neither smoking nor vaping.” But it’s so much closer to “neither smoking nor vaping” on the health scale than “smoking” that it’s absurd to say it isn’t healthier.
Even more than the 1%, the 0.0001%. An excellent resource to illustrate this point:
Wealth Shown to Scale
