  • I think a lot of those specific communities will naturally grow as they air and as Lemmy gets more popular. If The Last of Us had aired after the migration, we would definitely see that one as an active community.

  • Now show me a batch of Cumberbatch cucumber Cumberbatch watches!

  • I hope they don’t do that until they force car manufacturers to be using wireless CarPlay for years. If they drop a port, a lot of car owners won’t be able to use CarPlay.

  • So don’t agree to the terms of service? This could count as consent.

  • Nah, it’s totally worth $44b

  • To further add to this, a unit would be something basic like litre, metre, or a gram. So 1000 litres is a kilolitre. 1000 metres is a kilometre. 1000 grams is a kilogram. You may be familiar with the computer byte. A kilobyte is 1000 bytes. A megabyte is 1000 of those. Everything is divisible by 10, and everything makes sense.

Interestingly, even though a calorie isn’t a metric unit (the joule is), the energy to raise 1 millilitre of water by 1 degree Celsius is 1 calorie.

Also, 1 gram of water is 1 millilitre. And if you measure that in size, that’s 1 cubic centimetre. So if you go buy a litre of water, you know it’ll be 1000 cubic centimetres, and it’ll weight 1kg.

  • Star Wars can also learn from Marvel’s mistakes. It can all be avoided. Besides, in my opinion, Star Wars shows have been higher quality than Marvel’s.

  • I was at a coffee shop in a rich neighbourhood. Someone left the shop and then came back in speaking loudly to everyone. “Who here has the Mercedes with the license plate that starts with M?” They asked.

    Someone raised their hand.

“You need to move your car” The entitled man demanded.

“But I parked in the middle of the spot.” The Mercedes owner replied.

“I can’t get in to my car”

It turns out the entitled guy had a Rolls Royce that he parked over the line. The Mercedes driver parked next to him, but inside the lines. The Rolls Royce driver didn’t accept that he was the one who parked terribly. He just demanded that the other person needed to move their car. Not politely asking, just a demand.

To add to it, this place only has about 8 spots and it’s always busy. The idea that no one should park next to him is the epitome of entitled.

  • Seriously. Many ingredients are different depending on if they’re packed, scooped, or sifted. 1 cup of brown sugar can be very different than another cup.

  • As a privacy enthusiast, I cringe whenever people refer to 1984 as being about privacy and how “big brother” is watching them at all times. It’s not about that.

  • They actually meant multi-reddits and not subreddits. Super detailed explanation though. Kudos.

  • Not yet. I imagine it’ll come in the future.

  • So we should forget the prequels where a Sith operates in private to gain power? Same Sith who resurrected himself? Should we forget the last thousand years where the Sith operated so secretly that they were thought by the Jedi to be extinct? Or the comics where they explore wanting so desperately to kill Jedi, but needing to maintain their secrecy more? How about the originals where Palpatine gained power and never revealed he was a Sith to the masses? The Sith ARE the shadows. I agree that the story wasn’t fleshed out well enough in the sequels. They have their flaws, and this may be one of the biggest, but the idea that the Sith would operate publicly and transparently is laughable.

  • I wouldn’t say that imperial England is uphill though…

  • Somehow Palpatine returned…
