“It’s odd that the word atheist even exists. I don’t play golf. Is there a word for non-golf players? Do non-golf players gather and strategize? Do non-skiers have a word and come together and talk about the fact that they don’t ski?”
Then don’t. I don’t believe in any god. I just don’t call myself an atheist. I’m just not anything. If there was a survey of which religion I belonged to, I just wouldn’t check any box. Then I don’t have to associate myself with any group, I just am.
Normality. That would be nice. Where the rich and powerful… (checks history books)… use their riches and power to get more riches and power.
In all honesty, yes, things will go back to normal. Layoffs shouldn’t be as common in the future, it’s just still post-pandemic stuff we have to get through. Executives will always be cold, but hopefully they won’t expect massive growth in the future and then not get it.
I was laid off last year. Got a job after a while and just survived another layoff today. I agree with this assessment.
It’s all post-pandemic stuff. Executives thought growth would continue, and it didn’t. Then they had to take account for their decisions and make others suffer for them.
To add to your point: I’m 9 years into dev work. I’ve never bought a license. I build with the simulator, or I build onto my phone. You only need the license if you put an app into the App Store, and that’s further than the stage OP is in.
Right. Those with unlimited PTO take off only what they need, and not the strict number they get. Those with a set amount end up finding time to take off. It’s why companies moved over to “unlimited”. That, and the fact they don’t need to pay out your vacation when you leave.
It’s $50 every 5 years. As someone who’s sat in border lines nearly 2 hours long, it was an easy buy. The eased up security in American airports is just a cherry on top.
The whole “everything is just sequels and remakes” complaint has been around for so long. The ironic thing is that it’s just as original of a critique as the movies they’re complaining about.
The mindset of “this kind of works for us, don’t change it, even if what you have is better” is at the root of most issues with America. Healthcare or Kraft Dinner, American Exceptionalism is damaging.
This needs to be way higher. It’s so full of over the top destruction, crazy characters, and a fun message of how people of all classes deserve to fight for survival. I rewatch this movie all the time because it’s just so much fun.
That cow has a very flat side… I’m beginning to think that not everything on the internet is true.
