Sounds to me like you're being rather racist with your assumptions. You're characterizing a group of people as having monolithic values based on a shared heritage. They're individual people with individual beliefs and motivations. You're also suggesting that they're easily coerced, or perhaps simple minded. This too is racist and demeaning.

I get your point, and while there is certainly a subset of people who are suffering through no fault of their own, there are plenty of people who are lazy and/or made terrible decisions. Lumping them all together like you are doesn't help the situation. Those who want help should absolutely be helped. Those who don't should not be allowed to ruin it for the rest of us.

They also purposely build their devices in such a way that they often can't be economically repaired, necessitating a repurchase. Check out Louis Rossman on YouTube, he owns a repair shop and rants about it all the time.
