It's good to be bored, so they can think over things like bad life decissoons, why they are bored and why they think somebody else needs to entertain them instead of fjndjng something to do. (Or why they should do anything anyway)
There's nothing wrong with doing nothing for a while.
It was wet and cold (10°C) during the day, dry and warm (12°C) at 23:15 when I walked the dog yesterday. It hasn't happend very often that in winter the night are warmer.
I have to admit, we had a christmas 2-3y ago where we worked in the garden, as it was the only dry and warm day for months.
Yesterday we had my wife's parents over for diner, they areived at noon and left 4h later so the pets could be fed. Was fun to chat and have the rest of the day off. My sisters come tomorrow with kids. Haven't had them around to visit for over a decade. We usually go to them, as some have pet allergies and we have loads of pets. Alas, I'm unable to leave town for a few months, so we haven't seen them for a few months now, so they decided to drop by. No decoration apart from an paper 'table cloth' and some chrismas cookies for the kids to decorate.
When you normally see each other almost every month, why go trough all stress for the holiday season just because everybody celebrates a nice story. (is tricked into spending loads due to 'tradition') We had a not so simple meal with my inlaws (my wife liked to cook something special) and tomorrow it's soup with sandwitches and pizza (the kids would want notuing fancy anyway and it's easy for a big group).
No gifts, apart from each others company this year, although normaly we just dig inmfor the weeks and hide (with december being the only month in the year without birthdays). We already get to stressed about all the stress in/around the grocery that's almost in our back yard.
Can confirm 1. At least for me it worked great. They make a lot less noice then the oral-b with the rotating head and the head is a lot smaller. The smaller head enables me to reach all teeth.
Spare-ribs from the 1st Römertopf reciept my wife found years ago, while she can eat them as well. Her taste changed after the chemos, she can't eat anything slightly spicy anymore.
I've rooted all my phones since the 1st in '12 (Samsung S2) and I've been running Cyanogenmpd/Lineage since the 2nd. (Thag was the 1st of my own, the S2 was a company phone)
Now I'm running Lineage on all used devices (messing about with a Samsung A13 to get rid of all bloatware beforenit gets used). I'm not 100% degoogled, but I got rid of most junk. I still have some apps which Inpaid for, but I'm replacing them one by one. When that's done, I'l degoogle the devices.
And Musk is removing as many buttons as he's allowed to remove on the Tesla's.
I hate them. I'd love to own a car with electric driveline, but not an ipad with wheels.
Pets give so much joy, but alas, they are with us a short time. Spoil her in the hours you have left together.
I already had to say goodbye to 4 cats, 2 dogs and countless guniea pigs. They all are special and they al, had a good life. I'm sure many more will follow (we still have 4 cats, 1 dog and 3 gunea pigs), but I'll try not having later pets outlive me. That would be cruel. (We already had 2 dogs that outlived a total of 3 owners and 1 cat that outlived 2)
Sub? Where's the sub? Battle stations!!! Arm the torpedoes and depth charges!!! :D
We haver loads of communities for messing about, memes and just general banter. I think this community as well as !nostupidquestions@lemmy.world and loads of others are for more serious questions.
Nokia 6.1 Bought when released, still in use today. I tried Samsung A13, but that's in disude until Lineage or another rom is available. It's the only phone that survived 1-2 years of use, ever. (Apart from my indistructable Nokia 6130)
For me it was weight that was a problem for a long time. I wore the 1st watch I bought, an '85 Commodore with dial and display for ages. When I wanted something new again, I went into the store and told them that I wanted something just as light. I went out with a Pulsar titanium model that was 2 gram heavier, but it was close enough.
In '12 I discovered it wasn't weight, but the electronics that was the main cause of issues. Now I wear mechanical watches, with a Seiko 5 as daily and several automatics and manual winders as extra for when I feel like wearing something else.
Some have metal bands, some leather. I prefer metal in summer, leather in winter.
And the only alternative is premium, € 12 a month or when you pay per year € 100 a year.
And no way to get your data out of there unless you have Windows and are happy to select 100 notes per export (or at least that's what I found, no Linux clients anymore). That's what I call ransomware.
Thanks, sounds like an option as well. (The most promising at the moment)
Quick check shows no web interface. (or we can't find it) Linux app goes via snap (yuck) or appimage (never heard off). Also the clipper (which we don't need, we just want to enter text) requires the app installed on the computer. It's still the closest thing I've seen so far though.
