  • I feel like you shouldn't be advertising online that you're uploading large quantities of pirated media? Just kinda seems like common sense? Some of you guys are very trusting lol.

Hey, I clearly stated that I was uploading Linux ISOs and research papers! I never said anything about pirated media!

  • It always made sense to me, because when you create folders for your backups, it will always get sorted chronologically.

  • Not really. I watch YouTube videos with Invidious and yt-dlp, I lurk Reddit through RedReader, and I occasionally lurk Twitter through Nitter (but only very briefly). Lemmy is the only social media that I actively partake/interfere in.

  • I saw this movie on opening weekend. It's certainly not a "bad" movie. I don't regret watching it, but I kinda regret spending money on it.

The movie felt like Batman 1966, but with Marvel characters. I was almost expecting to see "BAM!", "POW!", and "WHIFF!" show up on screen. The reason I decided to see it in theaters was to form my own opinion, but if I had known it would be so campy, I wouldn't have been in a great rush to see it. Not that I didn't enjoy it - in fact, I loved it!

Maybe if it was marketed as "A Disney+ Original Movie", people wouldn't be so harsh on it.

Anyway, "The Marvels" isn't that good of a superhero movie, but I think people are being too harsh on it. It's not the worst of the worst, it's just campy and mediocre.

  • There is another fan project called "4K77", which also attempts to restore the original version of Star Wars. They somehow managed to get their hands on the original film reels, and scanned them digitally in 4K. It looks very grainy, but this is to preserve the original experience of watching the film in theaters in 1977.

So if you want a modern-looking and cleaned-up version of the original "New Hope", then watch Harmy's Despecialized Edition (keep in mind it's only 720p). If you want the genuine '70s theater experience with the film grain and everything, watch 4K77.

  • I doubt this is fully "free" like the X200, but this is still a major improvement. If anything, at least it won't have Intel ME built-in.

  • I thought you meant "point of sale".

  • Why do we need "enriching conversations" built in a car at all? Aren't you supposed to be focusing on the road?

VW promises it won’t force you to create a new account or install any apps.

    Not yet, anyway.

  • Society has put so much emphasis on being "connected" and "engaged" that we've forgotten how to be bored. The shower provides a rare opportunity for you to be alone with your thoughts.

  • AnyStream?

I haven't used it, but it is available for Debian/Fedora, despite being proprietary.

And you have to pay for it.

  • This article is an example of the "appeal to novelty" fallacy. "It's newer, therefore it MUST be better."

  • With the releases of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG, Mario fans have been spoiled this year.

  • Goosfraba is a traditional tribal term of Northern-American indigenous tribes, that is used in testious situations, with an aim to calm and ease the mind from stress and to prevent other negative effects.
