I don't disagree, but can you explain your reasoning behind this?

To rapidly lose your userbase to another platform, due to controversial changes to the website.

Named after Digg, which lost most of its userbase to Reddit and is now a shell of its former self.

I've always thought of it this way: permissive licenses ensure freedom for developers. Copyleft licenses ensure freedom for end-users.

I saw Endgame on opening night with my friend. The entire theater was packed. The way people were cheering, you'd think it was the Super Bowl.

It was the best moviegoing experience of my life, and I highly doubt anything will top Endgame in my lifetime.

This is an example of a "shaggy dog story", which is an extremely long-winded anecdote with lots of unnecessary detail and description, only to end on a cheap pun or anticlimax.

Have you tried yt-dlp? It's a forked, more modern version of youtube-dl, you might have better luck using that.

Assuming you're using Github to publish your own free and open-source software, remember that this is one of the basic tenets of FOSS:

The freedom to run the program as you wish, for any purpose

Even purposes you don't like or agree with.

If you're worried about megacorps stealing your code without giving you credit, just licence your code under the GPL or AGPL. They won't touch it with a 10-foot pole.
