  • Just one can't hurt.

    Oh...

    Oh no.

  • The guy who runs it used to ban Finnish IPs, allegedly because of personal immigration issues.

It's a useful tool, but I wouldn't rely on it.

  • Secure connection cannot thou obtain

for SSL hath failed and err' gain'd.

  • It depends on their aspirations.

Did they have too many engineers if all they wanted to do was keep the lights on for their core business? Yes.

Did they have too many engineers if they wanted to have the capacity to deliver more ambitious products and solutions, such as massively scalable live video streams, or social audio, or something entirely new? Maybe not.

  • Not yet, but it looks nice. After replacing the foam cups on my headset I think I still have a year or two left in these.

I'd be happy to evaluate them if Poly sent me a sample, though!

  • Not really, but are you using your computer's Bluetooth or the provided dongle, and do you have any apps keeping your mic open? If you use standard Bluetooth on Windows it sometimes gets stuck in duplex mode (the mode for conversations rather than consuming content), and music sounds awful.

They're good enough for music, but they're more optimised for online meetings. You're not going to get a hi-fi experience from them.

  • They last way longer than that, although I should probably switch them out more often than I do.

Three pairs can easily last a couple of years if you don't have grubby ears.

  • I don't know whether they will help with your issues, but for me they're much more comfortable and the better seal they provide means I get better sound quality.

  • Galaxy Buds Pro on my commute, Plantronics Voyager 8200 when I'm at my desk (or travelling on the plane).

For TV/games I've got a 5.1 sound system, but I will often just chill on my bed watching things from my laptop or playing on my Steam Deck with the built-in speakers.

  • I totally get that Linux is excellent, but the Linux community can be exhausting sometimes.

"It's so easy to use these days!" is rapidly followed by "You just need to grep the package and recompile it for your kernel."

  • Maybe it's just the young people I know, but the people I know in their late teens (nieces, nephews etc) are all genuinely good people - better than I was.

They're certainly far more aware and supportive of each other than I ever was twenty years ago.

  • Oh. I'll be off then.😔

  • I'd default to they, and if they tell you to use something else, use it.

  • Can confirm, just checked Disney+, all the episodes are there as well as the Finnish dubs (at least in Finland).

I don't know where you are, but it looks like Disney+ publishes all the dubs as alternate audio tracks so there's a good chance you can get it from Disney+ as long as it's available in your country.

  • What you're describing is a perfect thermal insulator.

What does it feel like when you're wrapped in blankets? You feel warm, despite the blankets generating no heat of their own. They do this by insulating you from the outside temperature.

It would feel like being wrapped in a warm blanket, and if you were fully submerged, you'd end up overheating as we're constantly generating heat that we need to get rid of.

  • Bing Chat is great, and at work we use M365, so I can easily search for work content through Bing too.

Bing Rewards are also a nice bonus.

  • It's not a problem in Helsinki as there are plenty of green spaces for children to play in that aren't the tramway.

  • If only there was a good (non streaming) way to get access to Game Pass games on Deck without installing Windows.
