  • I can't say I agree with the last point. Making a comment on Reddit is a dice-roll of which logical fallacy someone will attack you with. You could say "I like waffles!" and you'd instantly get a reply saying "Oh, so you think pancakes are shit then???"

It makes it genuinely difficult to have a even a mild conversation there.

  • And just like the Albertans, Ontarians are allergic to making sound voting decisions and will vote him right back in again.

  • Earth's Own is great. I love their oat milk.

As for Burnaby - I'm not sure exactly. Probably cheaper and more available land for commercial businesses. Vancouver is notoriously expensive and cramped.

  • It's very good and an extremely faithful remaster. The only thing I don't like is that most of the new voice actors are not as good, but there is a mod you can download (within the game's own mod manager) to restore the original voices. Also the menu system is kinda janky, but it works.

  • Holy shit that is an absurd amount of money. Even a fraction of that amount could overhaul and upgrade their education, healthcare, housing, etc

Literally pissing your taxpayers money down the drain.

  • Most of my groceries are either already made in Canada or imported from Mexico. I didn't have to change much.

It's not a cheap way to shop, I will admit, but it can be done. Canada makes a lot of food, especially here in BC where I live. Beef, pork, sausages, honey, dairy, milk-alternatives, breads, and so much more.

For non-grocery items there are numerous retailers that are Canadian. London Drugs is a great one here in western Canada. Online shopping is a bit harder because Amazon is so hard to replicate, but honestly at that point I just buy from Aliexpress. If I'm going to order cheap crap online I'll just get it from the source instead of sending money to the US.

  • Apple is likely counting on iOS fans who have resisted the temptation of getting one of the top foldable phones already available as they wait for a foldable iPhone

I think that has more to do with the fact that folding phones are eye-wateringly expensive. I expect a folding iPhone to cost even more.

  • You are assuming he will face any consequences. He is completely shielded by Trump and has been granted authority to do whatever he wants. And even if he is breaking the law - the law literally means nothing if it is not enforced. The US government has been effectively coup'd from within and cannot and will not regulate or stop itself.

  • I'm still using an M1 Macbook and it does me just fine.

  • A fascist moving to take control over every branch of the US government is not a good thing.

Especially not something as powerful and far-reaching like the CIA.

The only silver lining I can see here is that Trump would fill the CIA with incompetence and it would kneecap their effectiveness.

  • This is very good, but I hope devs can't just get around it by releasing a 5kb empty update to reset the counter.

  • EA execs: "Dragon Age: The Veilguard would have sold better if it was even worse."

They can do whatever they want with Mass Effect, far as I'm concerned. I'm not supporting EA nor do I trust them to not butcher their own products. They are self-destructing just like Ubisoft is because they cannot make a good decision to save their life.

  • Canada also provides 100% of the potash used in the US.

Canada could basically shut down the entire US agricultural sector in an instant if it wanted to.

  • They are (were) a fringe fascist party that rose to near-electoral status because our voting population is catastrophically ignorant about politics and thought they were voting away Trudeau during a provincial election.

It is mind-blowing how much Trudeau influenced an election he had no involvement in. Then again there was a lot of outside meddling such as ad campaigns from the Alberta government.

  • Not sure if you are aware, but selling a product that literally doesn't work is illegal in numerous countries. That's fraud.

Also charging this much for a nearly 30 year old game without doing a damn thing to make it even slightly functional on modern systems is bullshit.

  • To be fair, if you've been using Linux exclusively for nearly 30 years then yeah, you wouldn't be missing any Windows features because you don't daily it. That's a no-brainer.

I'm a daily Windows user but I do sometimes dabble in Linux both out of curiosity and also for challenge reasons. I used to use it for my school laptop(s) and at one point I had a 2nd desktop rig running it. I can gladly say it has come a long way and improved in many ways since the early days, but it still has a ways to go. Unfortunately one of the biggest obstacles is the Linux community itself which is both resistant to change and exceptionally hostile to new users.

About two years ago I was troubleshooting an audio driver that refused to work and I was asking in several Linux communities for assistance. The responses ranged from standoffish to indifferent to several people outright saying "If you can't even figure this out then maybe you shouldn't use Linux lmao". And I agree. Maybe I shouldn't. Because I was tired of spending so much time screwing around in a terminal while talking to people that think I am trash for struggling to use the operating system they claim is so good.

Linux can be an extremely polished, smooth, and effective experience but that experience is like the frozen surface of a lake. Once something goes wrong and you break through the surface - you are screwed unless you are highly experienced already. That has been my experience, at least.

  • Makes me happy that I see many of these brands and products in my local stores. Some of which I already buy.

Also when it comes to food, I suggest people seek out local bakers, butchers, and produce markets. You will get better quality goods and possibly save a buck too.

  • This would be sick. Especially for high-quality local foods.
