  • Oh man I thought I had prepped everything: Had the SD card full of compressed roms, the screen protector, deck plug-ins, little foldable keyboard, controller, dock, extra juice...like was ready for any challenge haha but just assumed the little buds would work no problem much to my horror they did not LOL. Lemmy saved me though, so grateful to everyone.

  • Hey yeah, sorry on my Honeymoon so only near my phone and the deck itself sporadically. I still am not 100% positive which of the suggestions made it eventually pair because I was taking a bit of a shotgun approach to trying nearly everything at once before takeoff.

With that said it's likely the following:

    1. Turning off Find My in the Air Pod settings (general settings area on the iPhone)
    2. Renaming the Airpods to something different (BatPods in my case lol)
    3. Turning off BT on the iPhone
    4. Paired EVENTUALLY in game mode for me (others suggested Desktop mode which I tried but it didn't work)
    5. Trying repeatedly without changing stuff every time. It took a while for it to finally pair while.

Idk what did it (switched to beta too), but it paired and I will say I still don't have volume in certain games (Sekiro for example which is somehow extra hard without sound haha).

I will investigate further after the trip but won't unpaid till then and try again. Will try to narrow it down though to help my fellow Lemmings.

  • Absolutely the right attitude. Great they are repairable but ffs hall effect sensors are here and should be the industry standard across the board, not just singling out Nintendo. Crappy build quality for controllers is not something consumers should accept in 2023.

  • Honestly all these are great suggestions for today, but this area is moving so fast I almost would suggest holding off six months to a year or so for a better solution to rise to the top. Their capabilities grow daily, and you may put in the work to get this set-up and have a much more capable solution appear soon afterwards. Just a thought though, if it’s mainly for a fun experiment then try some of these out!
