I hate to say it but I enjoy Kill Tony and it's one of the most popular weekly stand up podcasts currently. Tony himself is unabashedly right wing, and the show is/was funded, or produced, by Joe Rogan.
First time I saw one was at a local brewery about 15 years ago that was warehouse style, so they always had the garage doors open. Helped keep some kind of air movement in high heat.
Nobody wants to look sexism in the face, though, and that's why people are downvoting instead of telling me what I've said that's incorrect. It's true that sexism had a part of it too, not just non voters.
Something to consider is a mattress protector that kills bed bugs and seals the mattress from other ones getting in. I don't want to promote them here but I know a company that sells them, but they're not super cheap ($75 to $150). Good side is that it has a 10 year warranty. DM me if you want details.
My point is the people we're constantly complaining about not voting, some didn't vote because they didn't vote for Harris to be the primary candidate. I am not one of them, but I think it's a valid argument.
What I'm getting right now is knee jerk reactions to me saying Biden shouldn't have dropped out instead of poopooing on the non voters like everyone else.
Unpopular opinion but I'm not seeing many people put any blame on Biden for dropping out after the very first debate. The whole "too old" argument was extremely weak and, unfortunately, a large chunk of men in the United States will never vote for a woman. No matter how strong her stance is, what qualifications, or anything, they are staunchly against a woman in power.
It's unfortunate but dropping out and nominating the VP that nobody really knew for doing anything during the 4 years of Biden wasn't the best option, especially because people felt like they didn't vote for her, and the aforementioned sexism that still exists. If they put Walz up, or even Beto, they would have been better options IMO.
Edit: Not seeing much discussion, just downvotes. If Lemmy is to be better than Reddit I recommend not downvoting only because you disagree.
I'm not particularly into sports games but the NBA Street and NFL Street games were SUPER fun. Everything else I loved has already been mentioned in this thread though.
They still use air traffic controllers, which is a government paid job if I'm not mistaken. The government would also back them up if their private jet or heli encountered an emergency and had to land due to a failure with the aircraft. The government regulates when and how their private planes have to be inspected and ready to fly. The government provides the water that the employees that gas up and maintain the aircraft use, and the roads that get them there.
So they may believe they don't need the government, but it's a big part of almost everything we do everywhere.
I'm thinking they were hoping that people would jump on it so hard they would rely on AI to make decisions and tell them what to do, but Microsoft would hold the keys to what information the AI put out.
Generally, though, when you force things down people's throats and they don't want it or want to use it, you're in for a bad time. I personally go out of my way not to use AI; there are tons of articles and talks out there about how it stifles critical thinking and research. That, coupled with how early it is and how they tried to put it in EVERYTHING, put a bad taste in my mouth just like Y2K many moons ago.
