Only time I think I ever really got triggered about politics was when a friend of mine mentioned voting against Sanders just because he felt condoms shouldn't be included in universal health care, no other reason.

My friend and I had this conversation about anime and telling people ages of characters. Do I need to know that the MC is 27 and nearly a spinster? Not really, it doesn't make a lick of difference.

What makes it real weird is when they go out of the way to point out characters are teenagers in a clearly non-teenaged novel.

That sounds like gearing yourself towards needing the validation of others to enjoy anything.

I'm not saying always do things alone, I'm saying make plans with the knowledge that the other participants might not show up. I'm not going to plan something that is reliant on others to happen, others could be there or might not, I'll still go on the activity

Advice I've given my wife and my kids. Never make plans with anyone to do anything that you aren't happy to do alone.

Dinner? I'll eat alone

Movie? I'll watch it alone

Wife isn't in the mood? I'll just lay in bed and beat it next to her.

Hiking trip? Alone in nature is great.

Worst case scenario you still get to go have fun. Middle case, next time that person asks about doing something you get to remind them about all the fun you had without them.

I told my wife 4 years ago when these charges came in "If this becomes more than a slap on the wrist I will be amazed", I am not amazed.

Barbie horse adventures

I remember my last job, I would have to take days off for sick days, or half days for the Dentists. My boss however would send out emails like "Hey I am going out of town to Palm Springs, I'll be there for 3 weeks, I will be available for phone from the golf course so I am really only taking 2 days of PTO"

I mean he isn't bad just unnecessary. Just an over the top feel good character. He got dropped from the party the instant I got literally anyone else
