  • Sounds like a Ghast from Minecraft

  • Clearly we need to arm 1 year olds so they can defend themselves

  • I wanna see the burger better!

  • Burgers are just about the only good use for it IMO

  • Ah right, I forgot Vivian isn't trans in the US version, she is in French, which is what I'm most familiar with.

As evil as Disney is as a company, it's been awesome to see them stick to their guns and unapologetically keep including LGBT+ characters in their movies and shows. You can be cynical and argue they're doing it for money and PR, but we really need more big companies to follow their lead and plant their feet. I'd love for Nintendo to do the same, though I'm not sure I'll even live to see that, sadly.

Japan is overall making good progress in that regard these past few years, but Nintendo is another story. I can't think of a single company more paranoid about protecting their IP, and that's really the root for a lot of their shortcomings.

  • Can you educate me on what the differences were with the Japanese version that made it push the limits?

  • Reddit is overall quite left leaning, with a lot of its communities being some of the biggest hubs for lefties on the internet (antiwork comes to mind, all the LGBT subs, majority of the big politics subs also heavily lean left).

I don't think it's that crazy a "conspiracy theory" to say that this could be intentional sabotage. IMO it's what's happening with Twitter also, I think the alt right is paying big to take down left leaning social media so they can control the flow on information. I know Musk and Spez are profoundly stupid but I don't think they're stupid enough to genuinely believe in their recent business decisions. I think these decisions make a lot more sense when viewed through that lens.

They got officially fact checked a few times and that put the fear of god in them, since their whole schtick relies on ignorance.

  • On top of what everyone else said (I especially super agree with experiencing new things), I can recommend art, either experiencing it, or making it. Art is basically all about trying to capture or recapture a specific feeling, by heightening it.

Maybe the smell of roses doesn't move you much after all these years, but a well crafted poem, music, movie, or some video games (I guess Flower comes to mind for this particular example) can reignite some of that lost wonder. And if experiencing them isn't enough, you can always go after those feelings yourself, and make your own art, trying to bring back the sensations you miss the most. Heck, learning to cook an old dish a relative or friend used to make can evoke long forgotten feelings, "art" is a vague term.

I'm both getting older and suffering from really bad depression, and this sort of thing has been helping me cope with this loss of feelings.

  • This is possibly the dumbest solution to their (self created) problem. Can't think of a way it can go wrong!

  • I wonder where Meta found all those former Twitter employees, mmmmmmh 🤔🤔🤔

  • I first saw the name in Pokémon, and immediately felt drawn to it, kinda like the people to their holes in Junji Ito's Enigma of Amigara Fault lol. I can't really explain it.

When I later realized I was trans, it was a no brainer which name I'd go with.

  • Needs more Ghost in the Shell

  • I thought E3 died a couple years ago already?
