  • Super impressed with this first episode. I wasn't expecting actual brand names and real racing series to be mentioned, let alone small details like tires being left in the sun. Can't wait for the next episode.

  • Alright, fuck the Usubas and everything they stand for. They're no different than the Saimoris. They didn't care at all about Mio and were content to let her suffer until they realized she had powers. Then they're all, "oh we care so much and need her in our house."

Thank goodness Kudo's sister talked some sense into him, although hearing that he went back to work definitely isn't going to help Mio's mental state.

And that duel was really cool, definitely wasn't expecting anything like that to be in this show when I first started watching. Can't wait for next week.

  • Didn't the Wii-U mostly fail because most people didn't know what it was? The marketing and name were terrible and plenty of people thought it was just a Wii add-on or something.

The console itself was actually pretty cool, playing Wind Waker on it was great.

  • Alright hold up. So the guy we thought is a bad guy isn't actually a real bad guy? Was the bad guy stuff just a red herring and he is truly trying to protect Miyo while she goes through her awakening? Or is he trying to steal her from Kudo to take her latent abilities? Is he maybe a part of Miyo's mother's family? I was fully onboard for hating this guy until the bit with the tree, but now I'm not sure of his intentions.

Also I loved the whole sequence with the older Tatsuishi brother trying to heal the guy, Kudo fighting, and Miyo having her nightmare. The way they linked all 3 was really well done. I can't wait to find out more about what's going on.

  • Well I expected something to get in the way of Anne getting the note and tool, but I certainly didn't expect them to just get used as kindling lmao.

Hopefully we get more of Helck and Anne next episode.

  • Early word from reviewers and people that participated in some of the early access events is that the game is crazy well optimized. I think it was Fighting Cowboy who said all of his gameplay on PC was at 4k 120fps. He also said it runs at around 50fps with high settings on the Steamdeck.

  • Based on Kudo's conversation at the end, I think the ritual was a separate thing. Miyo's nightmares might still be due to her own powers awakening. Something's definitely going on with her based on how the tree stump reacted to her touch.

  • Sure, but they're the generic shooter. And it had a big resurgence during COVID with everyone and their mothers playing Warzone. I hadn't touched CoD since MW3 in like 2012 and I put so many hours into the 2019 Modern Warfare game with Warzone.

  • Holy shit seriously!? This is one of my favorite manga. I really hope it gets a better adaptation than all of his other works. I'm also a bit worried that people will fall off of watching it early on since the first act can feel fairly generic at times, even though the second act is amazing.

The trailer has me feeling cautiously optimistic that the action will be better than Biscuit Hammer's adaptation, but I'm still a bit worried. This author writes amazing manga but they've all gotten fairly poor anime adaptations. 3 cour is a good sign though, they probably won't rush it.

  • Based on comments I saw before it aired, I came into this show expecting comfy vibes rather than drama. I had no idea it would be this good or that I would get this emotionally invested.

I'm guessing this next plot is to assassinate Miyo, but maybe she'll awaken her powers and see it coming?
