  • Thank you! I've been wondering when mod tools were going to come to an app.

  • Mostly just to see how it works.

  • Almost all 'new' ideas borrow from old ideas. If we don't count Star Wars, then there's nothing we can count.

  • Educate yourself about crypto. The price could easily double, but then you'll still only have like $13.

But it's enough to play with it a little. Try sending some back or making a new wallet and transferring to that to see how that works.

There are certainly scammy cryptos out there. But the good ones are quite useful.

  • I don't. There will always be scarcity unless there's some way to completely automate the entire process of farming and delivery, plus maintenance on all the equipment, plus all energy needs.

I don't really see that happening. At least not for 100 years or more.

  • Pay? There's no 'pay' anything in a post-scarcity scenario. Nothing has to be paid for. If it's truly post-scarcity anyway.

  • Yup. Also the more blonde / light brown hair color the better gold looks on you than silver.

Also, I really like how dark skin and black hair look with gold.

So for me, it's really the medium to dark brown hair and maybe really fair skin goes well with silver.

That's just my personal preference of course.

But on like cars and stuff? Gold is hideous.

  • There is only "enough" food if you enslave farmers and take their product.

  • I came to say the same thing. This is exactly what Christianity believes.

But of course, it was Jesus who gave himself willingly.

If he was forced to do that, it would've been reprehensible because he was the only truly innocent person who ever lived.

  • burning a lot of fossil fuels.

FUD. PYUSD is an ERC20 token, using the Ethereum network, which means it's far more efficient than credit card processing programs at the moment.

Now, don't get me wrong. PYUSD is stupid and I'll never use it. And the whole point of crypto is so that companies can't control your money.

But being inefficient and burning fissile fuels is not one of those negatives about it.

**note - there are a few cryptos, especially first generation that are highly inefficient and do burn lots of fissile fuels, like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Dogecoin, etc.

But Ethereum adopted proof of stake somewhat recently, so is now far more efficient.

  • Southern biscuits and sausage gravy. I'm a northerner, but man... Love me some southern food.

I'm assuming you're asking what we'd like with no ill consequences, because that stuff will kill ya if you eat it every day.

  • I had been using Connect a good bit for the last couple of weeks. But Sync impressed me by how polished it feels. So I'm using Sync now.

I'll keep on evaluating others. So far, none have moderator action support. So I'll probably switch to whatever app has that first.

  • I see. So the end of the free and open internet. And all hail the pay to view internet. Want information? News? Weather? To interact with anyone else? Gotta pay up for every interaction.

Tim Berners Lee would be rolling in his grave (if he were dead)

  • I have no love for tech bosses.

Let me ask you - do you think we shouldn't be allowed to share links to news articles on Lemmy?

  • Nah. I'm not on Facebook anymore. But this law could easily affect places like reddit and lemmy and mastodon, twitter, and the rest of the internet. It sets a bad precedent.

  • The law is dumb, so I hope they don't pay and these news orgs die because no one will know about them in a few years.

  • No issues here either.

  • Similarly, I see lots and lots of orthodox Jews when hiking in New Hampshire.

I don't know. Just one of those things groups of people like to do. They probably also like seeing others from their community while on vacation so they encourage others in their community to go as well. And then it just takes off as a common recommended vacation spot amongst themselves or something.

Also I'm sure it helps that people from those communities report that they had a good time, they were safe, and weren't harassed or anything.

(I have no idea if that's accurate, but that's my guess)
