  • Normal, natural and necessary are the three N's of Carnism. Also:

    Vegan Bullshit Bingo #1:
    Lions eat meat too

Yes, animals kill in the wild - to survive. We humans are, as opposed to predators or parasites, omnivores. We know how to grow crops, vegetables, etc. and cultivate fields. We have a choice, a conscience and we have ethics. Are you identifying with the intelligence and life situation of that of a lion or a tongue parasite? Do you also commonly ask yourself "What would a tongue parasite do in my place right now"? Are lions that kill newborns of other lions, for example, really good role models?

    Vegan Bullshit Bingo #54
Well, humans just are on top of the food chain.

Shouldn't you take responsibility in the role of the stronger and be considerate with your power? Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you have to. Otherwise you could maltreat children, handicapped people and all other physically disabled people for fun. Of course we don't do that because it would be immoral. Why should this moral understanding suddenly no longer apply to other species? Wouldn't we also wish for mercy and compassion if tomorrow a species superior to us colonized the earth?

  • You are right, I buy organic as often as I can to not support the spraying of poison. And I usually eat whole grains, as you suggested, as it is much healthier.

we add tons of god knows what chemicals

This ticks #9 of the Vegan Bullshit Bingo. I'm from Europe and our basic organic oatmilk comes with stuff made from algue, seeds and plant oils. This is used everywhere in foodprocessing. Look it up, no dangerous "chemicals" to be found. There are brands that add sugar and artificial flavor, sure. Udders milk has about 5% sugar (lactose) and oat milk usually doesn't transcends this.

There is (almost) no baby killing going on

Half of the newborns are male and killed for veal, no? And the females get to be raised, milked and killed after a couple of years, so McDonald's can sell you cheap beef burgers.

most cows would get an udder infection if not molken regularly

Vegan Bullshit Bingo #17: Cows need to be milked
We did that to them by breeding them like that. That's Bullshit Bingo #32.

Also, if you don't want to grow so much oat and soy because it destroys ecosystems and rainforests (#2), don't feed animals, feed people! We're losing like 80% of the calories by giving it to cows. Here is a graph from the BBC

I live like 200 meters away from a dairy farm, no shit. :)

  • normal people

Drinking cows milk is normalized for most people, yes. But normal is a strange word for artificially inseminating another species, getting them pregnant, killing their baby, stealing their mothers milk then killing her way before she gets old. When you could just blend some oats.

  • I started on Mint and liked it so much that I never distro-hopped. Every now and then I think about trying an immutable distro. But then I remember how much learning I had switching from Windows to Mint and I get scared of losing so much time to learn about Aurora. What would your say to me?

  • Writing this from a degoogled Pixel 4a bought second hand for 80 bucks a couple years ago. Great camera, enough storage, fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, fits in hand and pocket. This thing is close to perfect, new phones are scam.

  • I use it since v2 and became an instant fanboy. Back then there was only the full version. I probably don't use all the features all the time, but it's so much fun to play around, discover sounds, modulate stuff, chain up effects and build little machines. It's such an advanced piece of software, compared to any other DAW. So if you can spare the 300 bucks, then go for the full version! It's definitely worth it and on summer sale right now.

  • I had many VSTs on Windows. After making the switch to Linux, ported them using Yabridge. But I kept using them less and less. Now I'm on Bigwig and I hardly use any third party VSTs at all. Hell, I don't even use 99% of my samples because Bitwig is so versatile. I usually take their native stuff and tweak it to my likings, and fast! So even if that is not what you asked, I recommend leaving it all behind and start fresh with just Bitwig. It really doesn't need anything else to make music on Linux. And it feels great to let go of all the digital baggage.

  • This was decades ago. There was a Reggae Revival in the 2010ths, lots of great artists which stopped promoting homophobia, sexism, greed and violence. The US were super homophobic a couple of decades ago as well. So let's not judge this island too hard, it comes from a rough past, change needs time.

  • Vegan Bullshit Bingo #22:

    Plants have feelings too
No, they do not. There is no serious study to suggest that they do. Plants do not have a brain or central nervous system. At most, they respond to stimuli. If you really care that much about the welfare of plants, you should go vegan, since many more plants "die" for animal feeding. Do you feel bad while mowing your lawn? And would you rather rescue a potted plant than a dog from a burning house? Is docking pig tails the same as branch trimming to you? Question upon question...

  • Fuck these fucking things! Why do people tend to choose the most insane option when they are given a choice!?

Punch a tiny hole in the neck of an empty 0,33ml PET plastic bottle. You can use a drill, a needle or a corkscrew. Fill it with water and squeeze it to spray your ass, vulva, whatever clean.
