  • What is glorious is riding high speed trains in other countries. They are built like our interstates, with all crossings either over or under. They don’t use their horn. It is just quit and smooth, and you can get up and walk around, get a tea, or use the restroom. It is far more comfortable than traveling by car.

  • Usually 72° F / 22.22°C. But my wife likes to turn it down on the really hot days were the AC doesn’t quite keep up. I try to explain the AC is running all out, turning it down does not help. And we certainly do not have one of the high end units that can throttle, it is either on or off.

  • The wealthy pay less taxes than states like CA that have progressive taxes. The middle class pays more. They have shifted taxes down. Then they pay outlets like Fox to rant on CA taxes.

    They also have far less services. This shows up in stats like infant mortality rates.

  • If SF did not have strict zoning and NIMBY’s it would look like Hong Kong. The demand for more housing on limited land is strong.

    As long as it is a decently dense development that is walkable and has public transportation (subways are far cheaper if open cut) then I say build away.

  • Which just shows he has no idea how tolerances work. Small machined parts have different tolerances than large stamped parts. The key is setting the right tolerances for each part, designing the vehicle for desired gaps with those tolerances, and continuous improvement to fix and design out issues.
