  • I just mentioned because I tried to enter the website found out what's there

  • It seems you care enough to make your first comment on Lemmy!

What the heck people, would you interact with people like this in person?

  • Thank you for getting out of your way and explaining it here.

  • I use Librewolf as my daily driver, however it breaks a lot of websites. We had to purchase plane tickets yesterday and to use regular Firefox.

I was super hyped for Ladybird but there was this weird thing regarding pronouns on their docs (last year?) and no matter the outcome, I just decided to not follow it anymore.

I have Chromium installed for things that break even on regular Firefox and for comparing websites when I need.

On mobile (grapheneOS), I am currently using Firefox Nightly, I think because it was the only one I was able to install extensions from custom repositories, I am not sure if that's still the case. I know I can (and should use) Vanadium, but I always miss my FF extensions when I do it. I play a lot of things so I love when I am automatically redirected from Fandom to a Breeze wiki instance, for example.

I never tried any other browsers of the list, and honestly I am very curious on the differences between Librewolf and Waterfox. Wasn't able to do the research by myself yet.

  • I think that's something related to people only being used to a system with two parties. It is either one or the other, no other alternatives. And the fact that they do believe the democratic party is left-wing because it has some progressive views.

Edit: replaced "no in between" for "no other alternatives" because in this case, being in between is just being a centrist and it isn't what I meant

  • Again??? Isn't this like, the third time they do this?

  • I am sorry to necro this post from a month ago but wanted to say I really appreciated the time and effort you put on this answer.

I have been using Logseq for a few years now and in my case collaboration is welcome. Me and my spouse are using AnyType for this currently (We tried using Vikunja and Planka but didn't like them). I thought about having a shared Logseq graph but I have been having issues with the Logseq git plugin and I abhor the idea of uploading our personal notes to GitHub.

I searched about Standard Notes and it seems they even got purchased by Proton last year, but as soon as I open their webpage I got greeted by at least 5 AI images.

One that I heard about recently is Joplin. It is very similar to Evernote.

  • If you know what constitutes good code you probably won't be browsing for tutorials. Tutorials, even the bad ones, are useful for beginners. If you aren't a beginner, don't look for them and you won't be so pissed by it.

You talk like you are a professional, but professionals know where to look and where to not look for reliable information.

  • I avoid things from dev.to and Medium like the plague, unless I can't find anything, anywhere else. However, something that's shitty for you might not be shitty to someone else.

It will just get worse with all the AI slop. Read the docs first, always.

  • First thing I noticed is that your navbar links don't behave like links. This might be related why reloading the page takes you to the main page. Are you using react-router? You might no be using it correctly

Is it normal to doxx yourself putting your address online these days? Isn't it better to have the city you are located?

I wouldn't link to all my social networks on my professional page, unless you are 100% sure you aren't saying anything that might make the recruiter be biased.

Having a PDF like someone else mentioned! Resumes usually go past RH people and they are never willing to look more than 10 seconds for the information they need.

  • Telegram isn't E2E encrypted unless you use secret chats. Even WhatsApp is better than that.

  • Sima (Simona Vetter) quotes "Being toxic on the right side of an argument is still toxic, [...]" while being toxic

  • If you are replying with "isn't this the guy" it means you didn't bother to read the post, which also removes the merits of you questioning if what he is claiming is fiction or not.

But people on HN provided context and it indeed seem he was stalked and harassed, but through his VTuber persona and there was even a GDocs document with the details.

Edit: His VTuber persona is Asahi Lina

  • The difference is that if you have your files you still can play the games if GoG goes under, while steam games will be unplayable because they need to communicate to steam (or have steam offline on your PC). I heard that steam drm is easy to remove but I don't have much knowledge in that regard

  • I was fine with the wallpapers until the AI rocket

  • Yes I read the whole thread and the lack of replies on his part were kind of infuriating
