  • Well, I just realized they don't support multi user which is kind of a deal breaker for us, since we are a couple sharing a homelab. We always wanted to share a few files when using Logseq and it seems this won't be solved with Trilium either. This sucks.

  • Yes, I love Catima!

  • For nfc payments? I have seen people making it work for boarding passes and fidelity cards but not for that

  • Your option is having a financial institution that provides tap to pay on their own app. Otherwise you will have to start carrying cards again.

    Edit:

You might want to check this thread on the official forums which has the discussions regarding NFC payments.

I have seen people recommending the usage of a smart watch such as Garmin which has their own Pay application. You can check their compatibility list here. I didn't have any luck because they support like 5 cards in Canada.

  • Same thing here lol

  • Happy cake day!!

Also thank you for the reply

  • "That's unacceptable. I have an idea: before you plan on moving to Canada, do not come if you're going to terrorize neighbourhoods like this. It's simple as that. You want to be a resident of Ontario? You get along with everyone," Ford continued.

  • We liked Readeck way better than Omnivore. Their browser extension is also very good.

  • I'm actively looking for a Logseq replacement, since they require CLA signing and can pull the rug at any moment.

We discovered Trilium and will be trying it out to see if we can migrate.

  • Did you manage to get a position? How was it?

  • With only 256GB it might be even hard for him to use windows, to be honest.

  • I was an Ubuntu WSL user and installed Arch Linux on my laptop without the install script and it took me a whole day plus a few more hours in the following days (reading the wiki and such). I learned a lot and it was a lot of fun.

I installed EndeavorOS on my desktop and it was.... Weird. It was so weird that I broke things and had to reinstall it twice. Endeavour is great but I had already gotten used on setting things up by myself.

I have both computers running perfectly since then but you need to keep in mind that you'll be responsible for doing maintenance on your system. Updating, checking logs, reading and rereading the arch wiki.

I wish I had tried getting into Arch sooner but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that isn't willing to dedicate to it. Maybe try Endeavour and see if you like it?

  • I'm assuming you didn't put a lot of thought in this comment.

Mastodon is great but expecting the majority of people to use it is just naive. I'm all in for tools that disrupt the usage of walled gardens.

  • Thank you! Appreciate the message, sometimes I need to remember this

  • I applied to one job opening and already want to give up

My biggest enemy is me 🥲

  • I don't disagree with you, but we all forget that the medium user isn't tech savvy like all of us and it is the main reason they get predated upon by big tech.

  • With PopcornTime it was the same thing, but it got too popular

  • Well glory to the private trackers, I guess. You need to have people seeding for torrents to work. I really believe this might kill public trackers if it gets too popular.

  • People that really want convenience just pay for streaming services. Stremio has a shitty transferrate and even with 1GB internet you aren't able to watch anything 4k, for example.

I can't relate with the complait about setting up jellyfin/VPN, that's something you only need to do once. Theorically Stremio would also need a VPN because it is getting it from a torrent, no? Just get stuff you need in advance and you won't have to wait and will get to watch something HQ if you have the setup to do so.

I also don't know/care about debrid so I can't comment on it. Isn't it direct download?

  • Stremio is a parasite. They are "legal" because the app itself doesn't contain anything illegal, you have to add the plugins on the side. It is just awful because it just leeches from torrents and don't seed anything.

We're just self hosting our stuff and using Jellyseer, it's convenient and we can just forget stuff seeding as long as we can
