It's the update, I was using connect and then ran play updates first I had crashing when clicking things like front page and now I have the same blank as the screenshot here.

I'm actually typing this on eternity because I kinda have to.

Edit: Resetting the apps storage/cache appears to have worked.

Yeah mine just updated and hitting inbox does send me to my phones launcher now.

Actually it seems completely broken hitting front page or others also seems to crash can confirm it was working well for me before Google updated it.

I've used Librewolf since the first time Google announced these kinda plans I'm thinking it must be at least 3 years now.

Yeah the dev seems to jump straight to any issues even now, seems like a great guy to me he could easily charge for such a polished app and as long as the greed wasn't mad I'd pay it.

I've got some serious qualifications in electronics, it sucks I love in a tiny apartment and don't have the equipment I need to fix things. Had my main monitor die a few days ago and I'm sure it's just a capacitor or something dumb, I've been out of work now about a year and everything I rely on seems to be dying lately.

Really wish I had the space and money to have a decent solder station, multimeter etc.

Also I'm not asking for any handouts or anything like that just cursing my own stupidity for never embracing a hobby that would definetly have benifited me.

How has nobody said Connect yet, I tried most of the other clients people mentioned and settled on connect.

This is after using Sync Pro for years on Reddit the pricing of the lemmy version just put me right off to the point I'll admit I haven't even tried it but then again I'm not interested in anything that puts ads on an adless service and I also will never try it as long as this is the case.

Connect is free and the developer is great

It describes removing the hard drive in the article and patching it, doesn't sound like much of a real exploit to me. Yeah you probably shouldn't be able to patch it but isn't getting your hands on the physical hard disk much more of a problem.

Yep I have Infinity compiled with my own api key and while I don't use it a lot it's certainly a lot better than trying visit reddit through their website/app.

I guess this is just solving the same issue really without having to jump through hoops.

Also using connect for lemmy.

I tried it once to see what Americans were fussing about constantly on TV etc, I wasn't very impressed with it. Its Basically a overpriced version of a cheap salad cream with chives from what I could gauge.

Ah I'm not an American consumer, just these companies acting suicidely mostly in an attempt to restrict their devices and force more ads I think.

I just think they are playing a dumb game because something is definetly going to undercut the lot of them while they are playing silly games. I think my next streaming TV device will be a good sbc as I just don't like these company's being in full control of my own devices.

At the minute I'm favouring a ryzen apu board but arms making a very strong showing now as well, so yeah I really don't believe these big companies will get away with it for long.

Seems like most of the streaming hardware companies (amazon/roku/Google) are going out of their way to make products worse. Someone's probably going to take their lunch and they'll all act shocked about it.

Seems a dangerous game to play with so many Asian alternatives and sbc computers getting to the point they could do that job.

Yeah it sucked at the time, took me quite a while to work out what actually happened.

I was raided they accused me of wanting to shoot up my workplace, I worked out later someone made a joke when I was on my holiday and a new member took it seriously and phoned the mayor's office.

I was questioned about my non existant Facebook account in almost every police interwiew I went through which all in all I'd say was close to a dozen.

Whole thing was a nightmare which ruined my entire life at the time, the fact the mayor was involved I think made the police absolutely crazy with trying to get me on anything at all. But yeah Facebook came up way way too often to the point I felt they wanted to arrest me for not having one and I was some type of criminal scum or some psychopath for not having one.

Ultimately they didn't get me on anything but I kinda feel if I had a Facebook anything I ever posted on it would be twisted in some kind of way to get me.

Unfortunately I'm now on benifit having lost my job and they keep bring up damn Facebook and trying to make me make an account.

There's something badly wrong here, don't use Facebook imo I honestly think it's some kind of trap at this point.

They should I've been using mull on mobile and Librewolf on Windows 10 since the first time Google announced these Anti Adblock intensions. Must be a few years now.

I did mess with Thorium a little when it claimed to be the fastest browser on earth but yeah apart from that I've been using hardened Firefox forks

Fair point I forgot Mastodon even existed honestly, I did try it early on but it's not for me.
