I’ve been on Signal for a while now. Have a bunch of groups but iMessage works with everyone.
It’s been a year and a half here on Lemmy. I still spend a lot of time on Reddit, but won’t comment there anymore.
I don’t WANT a Twitter replacement as it’s really only for celebs and idgaf.
I actually see enough value to pay for YT premium (kids complain incessantly about ads).
Friendica doesn’t seem to have an iOS app, and there’s a critical mass issue with wanting to connect with people that I know in real life.
I’m trying to get my Pixelfed feed to be with checking, and trying to be a regular poster, but it’s still REALLY sparse, and none of these offer the endless meme-video-clip scroll that my wife will have to have before switching away from Insta.
Biden won the previous election (barely) because Trump's incompetence was on full display and people were angry about it. It'll happen again, but unfortunately, elections are pretty much done in the USA. Between fuckery and intimidation, we're unlikely to see a 'fair' election until a major revolution occurs in the USA.
I loved my PebbleSteel but the build quality just wasn’t there. Had two go bad after a very short time with button issues. When Pebble got sold i begrudgingly moved to an Apple Watch and have been ok with it. I do wish Apple offered an E-ink display tho. I’d gladly trade display colors and screen resolution for a multi-day battery and lower prices.
No way is any purchasing system going to allow you to walk away without checking that you are won you claim to be, and that you have the funds available to you to make that purchase.
I last launched Minecraft about 4 years ago. Before that, I don’t even remember what games I might have played on my computer. The last console game I played with any regularity was GTA 5 on console, and once I beat the single player game I pretty much stopped. I simply don’t have time to spend on games I guess. I do have both Cribbage and Sudoku on my phone. Probably play them a combined average of 2-3 hours a month.
200gig was surpassed what, 8 years ago? They have super active load balancing based on your region. You could purchase a Fiber gigabit line and only watch videos 24/7/365 and nobody at YouTube would ever notice.
Monkeys throw poop. You can probably find KKK members that think to themselves “I’m not racist, it’s just that {insert race slur of choice} is the problem”. Bannon is trying to give them targets.
If there was no cap on insurance, the market would absolutely fix the “uninsurable” problem. It might cost $90k a month to insure your home, but since they fully expect it to burn down in a few months, they’re likely to take a loss on that insurance.
They’re in the business of making money, not fixing problems. It’s easier to just pull out of an unprofitable area than fix the Republican party’s head-in-their-ass ideas about climate change.
I made one for my hobby just so anyone coming from Reddit would already have a place to land. If anyone asked for the keys I’d probably give it for the fun of it. I posted a half dozen times and got one or two responses.
Both can be true. I’m reducing my usage of the REALLY BAD social media and trying to make THIS social media better.
