  • Looks down at his second-hand, 13 year old HP 5309U product code GM321AA and thinks "Damn dude. Sure my keyboard has nine keys that are worn so much that most are missing the print on them. And sure, it's not a mechanical keyboard. But I didn't have to spend a dime for it and it's still working just fine for me.

  • The Quest (2014). It was a random find on Netflix many years ago. My friend and I checked it out and ended up getting into it. We ended up watching 2-3 episodes back to back. It's one of my all time favorite 'different' TV shows.

"Fantasy meets reality as 12 contestants engage in epic challenges in the world of "Everealm", and compete to avoid "banishment" in order to become the one true hero that will save the kingdom."

  • There are so many great episodes to choose from, but Granddad's Fight (s1 e4) is still one of my all time favorite TV show episodes.

  • I would have loved to have seen them produce 3-4 more seasons. After that, I think it would have run its course as a coming of age show.

  • I highly recommend going to see Not.GreenDay if they have a show near you. I saw them this year and they definitely sound like the OG GreenDay. They also did a good job of getting the crowd involved and in high spirits.

I believe you mean Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) We currently use generative AI.

...keeps these positive developments progressing slowly so that future generations of humanity will not know our suffering.

For the next 24 hours, everyone in the world, regardless of a language barrier, has to listen to whatever is on your playlist of no more than 15 songs on repeat no skip. What's on your music playlist?

  • The bigger joke is that (IIRC) all of the latest CoD games require a consistent internet connection to verify that you actually purchased the rights to the video game. Even if you're playing offline.

Why hasn't Lemmy.World moved up from Lemmy 0.19.3 to Lemmy 0.19.7 yet?

  • Hahaha. And I bet you or I would have rehearsed that in our heads for about 30 minutes before then, and still would mess it up. Hahaha

How it must feel vs how it looks

  • I currently have tasks qued/being worked on, from World Community Grid, yoyo@home, and Rosetta@home.

I just started running tasks for yoyo[@home, and by golly. These tasks are freaking HUGE! The shortest task estimate is 2 days, and 18 hours.

Rosetta@home offered up tasks that took me more than a day for most, to be completed.

World Community Grid has been the best in completing tasks and not taking more than a day to finish. The longest estimated time to completion has been under 9 hours.

  • That's a good question.

From what I've gathered from my recent experience of running tasks, the project might have started years ago, but they are still offering tasks to be completed.
