  • Sustainably?

Industrialized food practices are not sustainable... how can we?

  • Ya know, when I first got here/to GenZedong a year ago, I was very skeptical of the takes we had. Felt sort of conspiracy theory-ish, like a weird alt-right pipeline type of thing. Then I realized it was just fog of war and living in the West where the majoirty of the world's opinion is discarded and we're pounded with propaganda everyday.

How the fuck did you all get it right? I mean, be honest! Not just the obvious "Russia is going to win," but even the slow acceptance by the west, the changing world order/de-dollarization happening, the European winter issue, etc. Luck? Or is DiaMat/HisMat/MLism that legit?

  • Yeah no shot someone understands Marxism and then "leaves" it. Especially not to anarchism.

I can sympathize with the hope getting dimmer, it really is dire. But the nihilistic "let's do nothing and bask in sadness while the world burns" is just dumb. I'd rather go out trying.

  • I actually completely agree with you, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I don't believe we're on the precipice of a revolution or anything but given the right material circumstances, good organizing and mobilizing of the people, and a little luck, anything could happen in a few years time.

The contradictions are sharpening faster than ever before and they are a weapon that, if wielded properly, can deliver the blow to the US that the world needs.

If you would have told Lenin in 1914 that in just 3 short years a revolution was accomplished, he would have laughed in your face. I am not calling for head in the clouds idealism, or that America is going to collapse next month or something like that. My point is that it will take work and time, that revolution does not occur spontaneously, and that if we do this correctly I genuinely believe the US doesn't have to be the last to fall.

  • I'm so sorry, comrade.

I wish I could help you in a meaningful way. We're here for you if you ever need to rant or talk.

  • This sounds similar to the word "conspiracy" becoming an inherent negative and not what the definition of the word is.

Thank you for the explanation, that was very helpful!

  • Honestly, even the argument that she "holds no real power" (which is flawed at best but we will take it at face value) doesn't sit right with me. Okay, removed, you still want the tradition of having a monarch? Even for looks? You know where that wealth could go?

Let's bring back fake slavery, for old times' sake, right?

  • Exactly. Absolutely asinine. I didn't even want to get into that because it'd be a whirlwind of crap. I know this because I once talked about lobbying (corruption) and he said that he doesn't believe lobbying has that great of an impact on how politicians vote. I'm entirely serious.

He apparently believes the entirety of the Chinese government is the NPC who controls everything everywhere all the time...

I tried to hint back at the US being far more of a police state than China and he didn't respond to it, I believe it's somewhere in the discussion. I think I even used that statistic about 22% of the world's prison population. Regardless, this guy genuinely believes our systems work well and is balls deep in American exceptionalism. Pathetic.

I totally agree with you on the internet thing. I think you put it alot better than I did. For real, weren't they just trying to ban tiktok because "china bad" like a year ago?

It really is. False premises, fast talking, insults. They then call it a W.

  • Yep. Forget about the destruction of poverty entirely while the US has 600,000 homeless. Forget about slashing pollution more in the last 7 years than the US has in the last 30, despite being the largest economy in the world. Forget about them having a more practical and participatory democracy than any western liberal democracy.

China bad. Muslim die, see see pee come to your house personally and eat your food if you don't pray to Xi twice daily.

  • Lol.

Yeah, they never came back to me with anything about proving me wrong or whatever. I'm not too worried about it anymore.

Thank you, my friend. Sometimes that vile shit gets through to me, though, and I begin doubting myself.

  • I'd love to see that. I have to find that one masterpost about the Uyghur stuff, too.

No worries. Not off topic at all

  • I know, he's like a neoliberal "socially left" Ben Shapiro. Talks fast, insults, uses a big word here and there and calls it a day.

  • Literally. I don't understand how someone can believe the CIA is entirely independent of all other government agencies and has no contact or motives within the system as a whole. Disgusting.

  • One of my favorite quotes of his during this whole thing. Right behind "large scale deception is impossible in the US"

I didn't want to believe that they meant it in that way so I didn't say anything but oh my goodness. What else could it mean? Real humans? Like bro.
