Yeah, that’s nice. You’re still appealing to something moral though, and what I’m trying to tell you is that that’s mostly irrelevant to politicians. They know they need to appeal to the masses to stay in power if they want to do anything, so appeal to the masses they will. And the masses don’t really care about international law.
The problem is that Kamala (along with every politician in the U.S.) has to weigh the how much support they will lose if they support ceasing armaments to Israel with how much they will gain by doing so. I’m betting the polling data shows fairly conclusively that they’d stand to lose more voter support by ceasing arms shipments to Israel than they’d gain. At the very least, I’m betting that’s the fear of a lot of Democrats.
I've gotten arguments that it's theft, because technically the AI is utilizing other artist's work as resources for the images it produces. I've pointed out that that's more like copying another artist's style than theft, which real artists do all the time, but it's apparently different when a computer algorithm does it?
Look, I understand people's fears that AI image generation is going to put regular artists out of work, I just don't agree with them. Did photography put painters out of work? Did the printing press stop the use of writing utensils? Did cinema cause theatre to go extinct?
No. People need to calm down and stop freaking out about technology moving forward. You're not going to stop it; so you might as well learn to live with it. If history is a reliable teacher, it really won't be that bad.
We’re not disagreeing. I’m just pointing out rural towns don’t have the problem of homeless people creating tent cities because they don’t tend to have the services homeless people need to begin with.
It’s not a political thing, it’s an urban vs. rural thing. Cities tend to have more robust services for the homeless, so naturally homeless people wind up gravitating there.
They’ll find a way to suspend the law so it doesn’t affect victims of the hurricanes and then reinstitute them again later.
Alzheimer’s, and the fact that my mother’s genes put me at terrible risk of developing it. The idea of my mind slowly fracturing while my body continues to live is utterly terrifying to me, and I have actively thought about buying a gun to take care of the problem should it ever appear. Problem is, I don’t even know that I’ll recognize it if it does.
Someone did an analysis of what would happen if Superman actually punched you at full strength, and it turns out his fist would never connect with you, because you’d be vaporized by the wave of nuclear explosions erupting from his knuckles as they caused air molecules to fuse in nanoseconds.
Good. That's one less reason for Netanyahu to claim the war needs to continue and one less terrorist butcher in the world.
