  • After being in IT and software development for over 25 years, the only printer brand I bother with any more is Brother. It's unbelievable how much better they are than everyone else. No nonsense drivers and they're not constantly trying to force you to buy expensive ink.

  • It's because they didn't buy Cinemax to combine them into a bigger more valuable brand with more IP. They bought out Cinemax to eliminate the competition. And they did it around the same time that all the streaming services started taking off, so they obviously got their asses kicked by Netflix. Cable TV as a whole has really suffered since Netflix and Prime got really big.

  • It's just like spending, what was it, 44 billion dollars or something like that to own Twitter, and not even a year later you drop the brand and rename it X. Like, dude, any decent programmer or sysadmin could spin up a copy of Twitter in a few days of work. You paid $44 billion for the brand.

  • Rent costs are down year over year for two and a half years straight

You have no idea what you are talking about. Rent has more than doubled. I know people living in shitty 1 bedroom apartments who pay more than twice what I pay for my mortgage on a fairly average house.

  • So other countries have socialized education, and they manage to have better results than our for-profit education system, and that somehow proves that our schools suck and should receive less funding, even though our schools have corporations sucking most of the money out of the system?

  • the conservative party of fiscal responsibility.

The republican party has never been about fiscal responsibility. Every time the economy crashes, it's the result of republican fiscal policies of spend like crazy but lower taxes so we can't afford to pay for it. The only thing republicans are "conservative" about is social issues like should LGBTQ people be allowed to live.
