  • That AliExpress link is the SD40, not the SK40. But yeah espresso outlet is just importing those machines and labelling them as a Turin brand. I didn't realize they had them on AliExpress, but I did see it on Amazon.

  • We punish kids for every little mistake they make. Instead of learning that we all make mistakes and that's okay, they learn that if you make a mistake you'll get in trouble, so you're better off sweeping it under the rug, lying about it, and pretending it never happened.

  • EvilCorp? You a Mr Robot fan? The Solis had way too much static and makes a mess. What's cool about the Turins is they have a bellows that you dump your beans into. After it grinds, you give it a few pumps and it blows all the loose grounds out of the grinder. Also the grounds go into a cup that's magnetically attracted to the base. The cup and base are metal and I'm pretty sure the base is grounded, so it helps get rid of the static. The Solis is plastic so there's no electrical path for the static to discharge, so it just builds up. As far as the grind quality they're probably equal. But not having to clean the countertop every time I make coffee is worth the extra cost to me. Everybody's budget is different, so you have to decide for yourself if it's worth paying twice as much to eliminate the static. The bad thing is I bought both, so the Turin basically cost me $300. LOL

  • I just got a Turin SK40 to upgrade from a Solus. It's amazing. The Solus has really bad static and got coffee grounds all over my countertop. The Turin has zero static. Amazing piece of hardware, check it out. There's another one that allows quicker grind adjustment too. They really seem like the best grinders you can get for under $500.

  • Exactly. I can't stand Hillary, but I absolutely voted for her in the general. Because the alternative was considerably worse. Many of us saw through Trump's bullshit and recognized him as having the complete opposite mentality of what makes somebody a good president. It's not even about politics. Trump isn't a politician! He bragged about dodging taxes. He bullies people. The list goes on and on. And when he was elected, many people were sounding the alarm that there's no way this guy is voluntarily leaving office. If he gets impeached and convicted, loses the re-election, or hits his 2 term limit, it was pretty obvious how he was going to act. And what really drove it home was the vast number of crimes he committed while in office. He knew that being president was the only thing shielding him from criminal prosecution. There's no way he was going to leave office peacefully. Even during the primaries, he refused to pledge his support to whoever won the nomination if it wasn't him. He shoved other world leaders out of the way so he could stand in front of them. He doctored a National Weather Service map with a sharpie because he couldn't possibly admit that he made a mistake about where a hurricane was headed. He spent his entire presidency bullying people on Twitter.

I mean, yeah, Hillary and Biden suck. They're neolibs. But if Trump is the alternative, I'll be the first in line to vote for the neolibs. And sadly, being in my 40s, Biden is probably the best president we've had in my lifetime. I may question his true allegiances, but I stand with nearly every decision he's made while he's been president. I just wish we could get a left wing populist president in my lifetime. Everybody thought Obama was that person, but I saw through his shit when he was campaigning. He made a lot of promises that he would never be able to keep, and when push came to shove he turned out to be a neolib all along. But if I had to choose between Obama and Trump, Obama all the way.

  • Where I live (a red state), things like weed and mushrooms are still extremely illegal. I have a multiple AR's that I built myself. And I respect those guns and would never use them in an irresponsible manner. But knowing how insanely stupid half the country is, it terrifies me that almost ANYBODY can legally own an AR. We need to have better control over who is allowed near these extremely dangerous weapons. And yes, they are extremely dangerous. If you've seen what high velocity rounds do to things, it's understandable. But there's no reason to restrict responsible gun owners from owning them. Ban AR's and people will still have access to other weapons that are just as dangerous.

But telling people what they're allowed to do with their own bodies, whether it be weed, mushrooms, abortions, etc is a complete distortion of the spirit of the constitution. If we made safer drugs legal, people would be far less likely to use more potent and deadly drugs. Sometimes people just want to get high, and if they can't get weed they get so desperate that they are making soda bottle meth. Or buying who knows what from some shady dude on a corner somewhere. If you legalize something, then we can regulate it, and people feel safer seeking help with their addictions.

Put it this way. If there isn't a victim, then it shouldn't be a crime.

  • That's completely out of the question in the Nanny States of America. The republicans want their "small government" to tell you what you're allowed to put in or do to your own body, so free will would never be acceptable.
