A billionaire would need to give a coin every second of his life for millions of years to deplete their fortune. The rich man of the story wasn’t rich enough, or was giving much more than a coin.
If we’re going to play that demagogic game, why not make “United States of America” be shown as “United States of North America” to reclaim the continent name back? Companies will comply if it’s an official request.
The ad paid money to the platform, and said platform has been increasingly permissive with hate, anger, and public opinion manipulation since Musk bought it.
Las Vegas, Nevada (soon to be renamed to “The Alluvial Planes, Snowed” under the new Cheeto renaming frenzy, probably 😉) is a place so littered with luminous signs, sleeping with the curtains open is already asking for trouble. Still, waking up to a giant eye in the distance would be terrifying.
“Can you tell me how other countries have managed effective healthcare based on science?”
“I’m sorry, as a large language model I don’t have the capability to make healthcare system analysis. Would you like to talk about the beautiful Gulf of Amerika instead?”
That opens another can of worms, since the continent is called America, and the country that appropriated it is The United States of America. Calling the continent “Americas” implies that USA is the original America.
As recent as the 80s it was still called America by everyone except USA and some countries of Europe.
Ads didn’t make 10 billion, Google charged advertisers 10 billion. IMO ads have gone so pervasive they’ve hit a point of diminishing returns. They’re everywhere, we hate them, and those 10 billion spent would have to bring many more billions in sales to be an attractive service.
I can’t wait for the ad bubble to burst, as advertisers understand they’re just giving money away to megaadvertisers for paltry conversions.
USA has done “preemptive strikes” and “enhanced interrogation “, I’m sure they will find a workaround.
