  • We still have orals in smaller seminars, and for PhDs. As another poster said there's too many students in most courses to do it, but we absolutely do oral exams for smaller cohorts.

  • The point of college is to teach people the material, not see if they can use an AI. The AI could be wrong, and we need people to know when it is wrong.

We still teach people arithmetic, even though calculators exist, because we want people to understand the logic and reason behind the tools they use.

  • I hope Lemmy doesn't strip all EXIF tags

So far as I know it does. Otherwise why strip the rotation data?

  • or half a mil for a 1500 sq ft house?

Oh shit, that's a great price, where can I get that?

Fuck, in my city it's a million to get 1500 square feet, and not in a great area (I am converting CAD to USD, so closer to 1.3 million CAD for us)

  • Hell, I knew what porn was from the time I was 6 and found a nudie mag.

  • If people actually wore masks and got vaccinated we could have eradicated

Not really, there was no chance of us eradicating covid. Covid spreads well even among the masked and the vaccinated. We could only slow it down.

but now it's like the flu where it changes to quickly to manage

It was like that from the start, there were multiple competing strains of covid right from when it was first discovered since it had already been spreading for at least 2 months at that point and was all over the world.

Covid was always going to become endemic.

  • My favourite browser, abandoned it when they went chromium. RIP in peace Opera.

  • Some of the men were, others were shown to be normal. They really only showed a handful of real world men anyway, and Ken got all his inspiration from a few corporate suits (and honestly, a lot of male suits do act like that).

  • All the Ken's care about are Patriarchy, horses, and mini-fridges, because they were given no rights or ideas of their own before Ken went to the real world, and he was only there for a few hours.

It's not a critique of men in general.

  • You didn't answer their question. Which do you prefer?

  • I like 4:3 aspect ratio, gives video a better sense of height. Grand Budapest Hotel looked amazing, and it's mostly in 4:3.

3:2 is my favourite aspect ratio though, shame moves and TV never adopted it.

  • Nope, there are different types of camel, not all of them have canines, but some do. Also females have smaller ones than males.

Just do an image search of camel teeth and you'll find lots with large fighting canines.

  • This would have been maybe edgy or interesting 20 years ago

Having been a teenager approximately 20 years ago, no this wouldn't. We partied and went out, and played video games and surfed the net back then too.

  • mainly because the majority of wacky medical mysteries came from actual doctors

Same with Scrubs. What makes Scrubs a lot more accurate is most of the times doctors aren't dealing with crazy medical mysteries.

  • Who says the indoor space has to be unerstimulating? My cats have lots to do as indoor cats, and have zero interest in going outside.

  • It's funny as hell too, I was cracking up all movie. Really fun ride.

  • The movie also isn't even Boyz Drool, it's a critique of radicalization that can occur to aimless men, and ends with the message that equality is preferred over a matriarchy or patriarchy.

  • Most of it is My Little Pony, which has a huge fanbase.
