Which would have far reaching consequences on other insectivores. Also, it's not a foolproof solution we've created, the infertile male mosquitos will reduce the wild populations numbers, but likely not make them extinct.

Pitbulls were bred from bull terriers to be a bigger version. So it's not surprising a different breed of terrier is also prone to biting.

Also puppies are a lot less of a worry than grown dogs.

Pits have an incredibly strong prey drive, and once they decide to attack something they almost never stop. So no, they don;t have the best temperament.

Pugs should be banned as well

There's at least a retro-pug movement now that is working to breed the overly shortened snout out of pugs, and make them a healthier breed.

Everyone I know that has been severely bitten by a dog it was a pitbull owned by a white person. Fuck off this this racism dogwhistle shit. Pits are an unpredictable and dangerous breed.

But we have a choice to allow pitbulls as pets. We don't have much of a choice about the existence of mosquitos.

Everyone I know who has been bit by a dog it was either a pitbull, pit mix, or chihuahua. And I'm not exactly worried about the severity of a chihuahua bite.

To clarify you cannot add zeros to a non-convergent series, which the series c is.

In regular summation you are only allowed to add one zero to the start of a convergent series without changing it's value, since you know a convergent series has a specific answer.

But for non-convergent series you cannot do this mathematically in normal summation.

The value of a series is calculated by summing to n digits, and extrapolating. So c to 4 digits is 10, and to 5 digits is 15. 4c to 4 digits is 40, and to 5 digits is 60. But the series 4c with added zeroes at 4 digits is 12, and at 5 digits is still 12.

So 4c and 4c plus zeroes are not the same series. The only way to make 4c work in the posted equation is to use "super summation" which is a load of bull. Someone else posted a good video showing why this is the case.

But it does change the length of the infinity.

It makes the series equal length. You'll notice this is discussed in the wikipedia article, and a bunch of bullshit handwaving has to be done to try and correct for it.

In order to make c the same as the divergent series you have to subtract the series:

f = 0 + 4 + 0 + 8 ...

Which is not the same series as 4c.

Except it is. Infinities can have different sizes, and the size of an infinity needs to be taken into account when working with them.

Rama subtracted one infinity that is twice the size of another from it, so he subtracted twice as many numbers as his equation implies.

I don't like the Ramanujan explanation at all because c - 4c doesn't equal the divergent series, since 4c is only supposed to subtract from every other number, so it has more terms at every single limit of n, and thus more terms at infinity. So c - 4c is just -3c, not a divergent series.

We're not more depressed now, we're just more open about it and seeking help. Sure out grandparents had a rough go of it, but so did their parents, and their paretns parents, and on and on throughout history.

Before World War 2, you had the Great Depression. Before that World War 1 and the Spanish Flu. Before that you had colonialism, slavery, and horrific working conditions. Before that you had the black death. Before that you had less than a 50% chance of reaching adulthood.

People were definitely more depressed in the past, they were just shamed into having a stiff upper lip and not talking about it.

Sure, so then why are mental health issues appearing to get worse, despite the fact that people were so depressed they beat their kids all the time in the past?

Simple, we're just better at diagnosing and treating it now, and people are more comfortable admitting to it now.

We're not worse mental health wise, we're a hell of a lot better than in the past. People are just more willing to talk about it now, and not try to have a stiff upper lip like with past generations.

People were far more abusive to their kids in the past, so that doesn't really explain why depression is getting worse now.
