  • Exactly. So the only instance water is dry, and thus not wet, is if it's a single lonely molecule.

But water tends to come in herds, so that basically never happens.

  • Wwweeeeeeeellllllll see, water is also touching itself constantly. Something being wet is a material surrounded by water, like the fibers of a sponge surrounded by water, in example.

In water, every water molecule is surrounded by water molecules. This means every given water molecule can be considered wet. And thus water is wet.

  • It absolutely works on Linux.

  • But a genie doesn't have the power to disagree. They can try all sorts of mischief when fulfilling a wish, but they're still bound to fulfil a wish to the letter.

  • It's still crazy to me how since PS3 Sony has been using FreeBSD as their basis for an OS.

In my mind it's always been this network traffic or datacentre thing.

  • It is an elaboration of the previous sentence. It's still part of the same wish.

  • Trump's administration is all bark and no power. They're only making their own citizens progressively more miserable, while the rest of of us treat him exactly for what he is; a big orange aged clown with a bunch of dillusional followers.

    • They're not getting Greenland. Their last visit to Greenland was embarrassing.
    • They're not getting Panama.
    • The Ukrainian mineral deal is now in favour of Ukraine.
    • They did not get the "peace" they wanted in Ukraine, and have backed out.
    • Tesla is failing to the point it is cutting back on promises (which or relevant because it effects Elon).
    • They just lost the trade war against China.

Spineless, incompetent wannabe dictators. I'll enjoy seeing their cope as they claim their plans are working out great.

  • Meh. This is the first I've heard of this in a very very long time.

I'd argue The Matrix Trilogy, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, and the Lord if the Rings Trilogy have had far greater cultural impacts. They're referenced quite a lot, especially The Matrix.

  • It is part of my wish. The genie is obligated to fulfil my wishes.

  • Sure but... I'm subscribed to Humble Monthly. So instead of getting a CD with a magazine containing a bunch of demos, I get a bunch of keys for full games. A lot of them pretty neat indies.

For gaming news... Well, on Lemmy there's this guy.

  • Ever since Brexit I think it'd a little late for that.

  • "I wish for an entity of the same power and capability as a genie, completely bound to my will and made to indefinitely (even beyond the grave) fulfil all my wishes, however many they may be, and be completely devoid of the kind of trickery that is described as a "monkey's paw". There shall be no malicious compliance."

    Monkey paw that, bitches. :V

  • As the "kids these days" say:

    Cope.

  • Europe created something called "the platform work directive", or something along those lines. Basically means that platform jobs (i.e. Uber, Wolt, Just Eat) can no longer operate under a so-called "freelance model".

Basically, if it looks like you're hiring employees, you must give them contracts like employees (along with everything that entails).

It's already been agreed upon, so it's a matter of implementation. It's considered a "pillar" of the EU now, so being part of the EU means having the directive. Deadline for the implementation, as I've heard from 3F Copenhagen, should be 2026.

    I can't wait.

    • Game won't launch with other DX versions. Will throw an error that only DX12 is supported. Haven't tried Vulkan yet. However, a lot of current UE5 games seem to have DX12 as a hard requirement, and Oblivion Remastered is no different.
    • Windowed, borderiess, and full screen make no difference.
    • Yes, I have gone through the process of turning graphics down to potato. Even resorted to using certain ini settings that turn off things like Lumen ray tracing. The artefacts remain the same.
    • I'm on bleeding edge everything because the game won't launch on earlier driver versions. At least, not with an Intel GPU. On earlier versions of the Mesa driver, UE5 games that have a hard requirement for DX12 will not recognise the Intel GPU as DX12 compatible.

EDIT: Well, just now tried launching it with Vulkan. Getting the same "project is not configured to support it error" that I get when trying to launch it in DX11.

  • Telekinesis is probably the most versatile, over-powered power one can have (though it's usually depicted poorly, just like super speed).

There are, however, some villains that have a decent show of telekinetic ability, like Darth Vader. But I'd prefer the telekinetic strength and precision of the Phoenix entity from The X-Men.

  • I wonder what even defines a world war anymore.

There have been several major conflicts in the Middle East (Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, ISIS) that has involved a significant portion of the world and their armies. So why don't those count as world wars?

Or does it only count as a world war if it happens here on European soil?

  • Yeah, I threw up a little when reading that.

  • Yeah, the problem might not be review bombing, but rather lack of advertising.

Until now I've honestly never heard of No Rest for the Wicked. I didn't even know Moon Studios was busy on anything after Ori 2.
