  • I don't see the issue with people letting the outgroup do stuff that they wouldn't let the ingroup do. It makes sense that you punish or lecture the ingroup about the negative effects of a behavior and it makes sense to surrender on here to educate the outgroup.

The people who joked about violence but are now against it, those people are funny.

  • I would never use those services. There is nothing wrong in offering them but I think there is something abusive in accepting the offer. Surely some people do it 100% because they love the work but I am fairly certain that most don't. And those who don't, won't tell you that they don't. So if you accept the service, you might abuse someone's desperation.

  • As much as a lot of us dislike it... I think it is difficult to argue for e.g. python being a programming language without including html in it.

And honestly if python is no a programming language because you use an interpreter... Then I would love to hear a non-bad-faith argument for c being a programming language as e.g. GCC could easily be viewed as an interpreter too. Obviously there is a difference but is that difference really the difference that you want it to be?

  • I worked in a office supplier at one point. People would enter the office, put some documents on the first desk they see and look at the guy sitting there. No hello... No sentence... Nothing... That is usually the point when we knew what was up. The guy would look at the documents and say "you aren't at the right place. Wrong floor. Wrong door. " They would look at us in shock. Sometimes complain that you couldn't tell where you are. It was always the same. They wanted to get something from the government. They had an office in the same building. There were multiple big sign. There was literally 2 signs outside telling you which floor. Obviously our office had a sign too. They passed at least 3 signs in an office building while they were looking where to go... People don't read signs.... They just don't.

  • I don't want to argue with you and I admit that my phrasing wasn't ideal but I assumed that it was obvious that i was talking about everything that would be executed on the machine. Apparently it wasn't.

  • Basically, crowdstrike wrote bad code that run as a driver, windows doesn't like bad code in their drivers. Kernel level code is generally expected to run properly. crowdstrike's kernel level code was really bad. Embarrassingly bad.

If the host creates a playlist and everyone can add their favorite song to the playlist, the host won't be blamed if you add "erika". People rightfully think you are an ignorant weirdo or a bad person, not the host.

  • Don't know what idea I like more,

    1. He is doing the weirdest troll
    2. He is mistaken
    3. We are mistaken to think that he means Epstein and he is totally right and on the money. (Geoff made have a vacation love Affair with his wife or something)

    I can't choose

  • SpaceX's reusable rockets is from SpaceX if I understand it correctly but...

Obviously musk didn't build the rocket or planned the rocket but that is not the point.

Nasa had plans for reusable rockets but for the longest time, the financial risk of development was higher than the value of reusable rockets. SpaceX didn't care about the financial risk because they needed thousands of satellites for the most brain dead idea ever, starlink and because Elon is bad with money (Twitter...)

So SpaceX was "successful" because they were crazy enough to run 2 extremely dangerous projects.

  • That is the fun stuff. They don't. That is the lie.

If the USA and EU decides that the rich has the pay taxes then where do the rich go? They go to XYZ country, you might think but they don't. Their business is in the US and the EU and their wealth is. They can slowly move their business and wealth... But they can't move their market, which is where? USA and EU.

Also e.g. The old money in Germany will never leave Germany. Due to privacy laws and the safety that they live in, they remember the RAF and they are thankful for the privacy and safety.

It is a lie that they tell you. They don't leave.

Edit: in case, someone is wondering what I think is a motivator for them. Comfort.
