  • I took mailbox because i thought @mailbox.org looked professional, atleast better than something like @tutamail.com They market themselves as privacy concious but they aren't, really. It has support for PGP and all, but the whole thing is just a wrapper around the Open-Xchange standard, and a barebones wrapper at that. Development happens at a snails pace, meaning it has fallen behind most of its competitors. The 2FA implementation is partial at best, the "Open Sessions" page which is supposed to list and allow you to log out of connected sessions only lists browser based sessions - not connections via IMAP with other software meaning using open source programs like thunderbird won't show up on the open sessions page.

You can check the mailbox forums for a long list of threads where users air their grievances at an at-best understaffed, at-worst indifferent, staff.

  • Fastmail is a good alternative. I hear mixed opinions about mailbox.org Posteo comes teongly recommendes for their focus on privacy Tutamail is also very good on that front, but you can only use it with their apps and programs. There are many many options, but you can find more on the privacy focused communities on lemmy.

  • I have heard entirely opposite experiences from other people - one had to take his car in 40 (!!) times in the span of four or five years.

I think there's a serious QA issue if some are getting good cars and others are getting garbage that keeps falling apart.

  • It's so stupid and shortsighted. Living environments are not just the inside of our homes - it includes the outside, the neighbourhood, and the options you have to travel in and out of there. All of this together decide your quality of life inside your home.

  • This also depends on what kind of roads you have to walk on - highways suck for nighttime walks, because not only are you constantly on edge to try not to get run over, you also need to walk for miles to get anywhere.

Suburbs are nicer, but the best is to walk in a park, but that raises your chances of getting murdered by a lot so idk

I don't know where I was going with this. I lost my train of thought.
