  • I was at my last job for 10 years.

If I had been well paid and treated well I would not have ever started that job search. Further even just having one of those two thing might have kept me from looking.

At that job I hit the tipping point of both. It’s was getting shittier everyday and the pay wasn’t budging year after year. Finally mid-Covid the power flipped to the employee and jobs were much easier to get. I started looking and jumped shipped.

  • I wonder what a “25 years later” American Psycho 2 would look like? How would he deal with aging? What would be his current obsessions?

And yes I know there is already an American Psycho 2 but I think we can all agree to ignore that.

  • I think for all movies the main discussion threads should open morning of release or maybe the day before.

For the super hot movies it would be good to do prerelease thread (1 week ahead), regular discussion (day of), and a post release thread (1-2 week after release).

Also, wanted to be sure I wasn’t being shitty with my comment. This is a great format and I’m loving that we’re getting good discussions like this going.

I think another cool idea would be to do a throw back Thursday thing where a thread is opened on old movies. They could be left open forever to recreate the old IMDb forum days.

  • I think it would be better if we waited for these discussion posts to hit just as the movie releases. By the time it comes out this post will be over a week old.

Maybe if it’s something really big we could have prerelease discussion and then the released discussion.

  • I’m so conflicted by Eli Roth. He made 2 good movies (Hostel 1 and Cabin Fever) but otherwise it’s mostly bad. However, I genuinely think he is obviously a HUGE horror nerd. His history of horror series so soooo good.

I think I’ll mostly keep giving him a fair shake but I would want him to touch an IP that I really like.

  • In their current iteration I totally agree. However, long term we could shift away from needing to own a car and it would be an Uber like experience for everything.

If I could have a car waiting for me every morning at 7:30 to take me to work and then hit a button when I’m ready to go home I would consider it. Maybe I’d rent a car if we needed to do a road trip.

  • You could probably figure out some unique version of the dice rollers or player pickers.

Dice roller just rolls a set (specify number) on a click. I’ve used for board games. You could probably do something similar but different. Like a random color picker, random 1-10 picker, or random name picker (from a user list).

Player pickers work like 5 people put their finger on the phone and will randomly pick one person to be first player. Again, useful for board games. I could see it assigning a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd player. You could even spin it like for a 3v3 basketball game. It will put 6 people in 2 groups or something like that.

  • At my old company I had a few coworkers in Cyprus and they were some great people. One of my US coworkers ended up moving there. I did a video call with him and saw the view he had and holy shit that was the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen.
