These people are arguing in the court of public opinion. The guy could be 100% in the clear legally and it wouldn't matter if public opinion is against him. The governlent has been doing tons of unconstitutional/illegal things, but only reversed the ones with widespread negative public sentiment
Half the candidates is 25-30. It would need to be at least $10 per drink for that profit number, and that's only if he's getting free electricity and drinks
It's common sense to support a dictator holding your wife hostage
What's he supposed to do, speak out against the guy holding his wife?
In a democracy, his support for Teump would be questionable. We are no longer in a democracy. Supreme leader takes your family, you thank him and hope for leniency
We are under a dictatorship. Think theough the possible outcomes
Is he continues supporting Trump, he may get an exemption as a reward for his continued support despite a large news story developing
If he speaks out against Trump's policies, he's effectively guaranteed not to get an exemption. Anti-Trump citizens are freqently attacked. They may come up with arbitrary crimes to charge him with, similar to Abrigio Garcia His own citizenship may be in jeopardy, as Trump has stated he may strip citizenship from those he disagrees with
For him personally, it's an obvious choice: Publicly support Trump, as it maximizes your personal gains
The costs of Doordash/Uber Eats gets socialized pretty heavily. Where I live, most restaurants just upped their prices 20-30% across the board to account for the DSP fees. Most of the time I'm ordering from Doordash, it's genuinely cheaper than actually eating in the restaurant
the US is much more divided politically and culturally then Nazi Germany
Is it? Hitler couldn't even win an election before his rise to power. He siezed power after being appointed to a position of power. Trump won the popular vote, if we can believe election results
I think Nazi Germany looked more unified than it was because we focus of the WW2 years, well after Hitler had consolidated power
The cuts are to Medicaid, not Medicare. Although the debt is increasing so much, there may need to be cuts to Medicare in the future to account for the increased interest payments
To clarify, Trump passed no such law. It was a supreme court ruling that happened last year, during the end of Biden's presidency. It only applies to official actions, so could be interpreted to not apply to violations while campaigning for office (but this is the same supreme court that put the presidency above the law)
It gives the president unchecked power, if they choose to abuse it
What would stop the IRS from sending federal agents arresting people on the streets? We've already seen ICE doing it without badges, uniforms, or warrants
This is the problem with a dictatorship. They have too much power. They can do whatever they want
I agree with the sentiment, but it's individuals and businesses paying the federal taxes in NYC. You'd have to somehow get them all to agree to put their personal freedoms at risk by not paying their federal taxes
Donald Trump knows he faces no personal risk by withholding funding, because the SCOTUS has declared him immune. He can break any law with impunity
I wouldn't be able to tell that from a legitimate badge
So many of the videos I've seen are of supposed officers forcibly kidnapping people without giving a badge number or warrant (some claim there are no badge numbers for ICE, but likely that was a fake officer. They certainly aren't letting people look up a contact number for DHS
Also feels like the administration is waiting for someone to resost so Trump can label them a terrorist and make an example out of them, despite it being perfectly legal self-defense
What is the legal qualification for "identifying as law enforcement"? Can I don a mask and tacti-cool gear and shout "ICE federal agent" as I attack someone?
Anonymous data sources are largely a myth. The idea you can have large sets of data remain anonymous is unrealistic. Once you have enough data points, it's easy to de-anonymize almost any individual
Despite all evidence to the contrary, you have quite the conviction. Quite the dedication to defending a terrorist
Boelton shot their family dog after murdering both parents. Kristi Noem murdered her family dog because she didn't want to train it and was promoted to a high level cabinet position
Police, by your own admission, kill many family dogs. Police also heavily skew conservative
In spite of all that you think this administration and its followers love dogs?
Reddit still uses IP bans. It's crazy how far behind the times some tech companies are
