As I understand it, after the norman invasion in 1066, generally the Saxon (Germanic speaking) people reared the animals so the names for the animals come from the German language, but the norman (French speaking) people eat the animals so the names for the meat generally derive from the French language.
Okay, well I just don't think it's fair to be rude to people who are just trying to build a community.
I don't think that disagreeing with you, and implementing a rule is the same as being 'openly hostile'.
Sometimes, we disagree, that doesn't mean you need to be rude.
I don't necessarily agree with all of the new rules being implemented, but overall I can still see that this mod team are working hard to create fair rules to allow as many people as possible to engage positively with the community.
Thanks mod team - really good to see an engaged and thoughtful team at work building our community.
Pay wall - I think this is tricky as, by avoiding paywalls, the original author is not getting the fruits of their work, however in the interests of free information then maybe a summary would be the best balance? - Maybe using a large language model to summarise and then in the comments the user could post 'highlights' they think are important?
Non English articles - I think until we are a bigger community sharing a Google translate version would be the best solution, but maybe with the proviso that any native speakers or people who are confident in that language are encouraged to comment on any inaccuracies in the text or clarifications.
Social media - this is a tricky one as, again, I think it's important for the original author to see some engagement as a result of their (e.g.) photo. Including the original poster and location in the title and a link to the source in the comments seems like it would be a good middle ground.
I assume he meant reverse grid for sprint but normal grid for race - so you still want to qualify first to have the best chance in the race where there are more points up for grabs.
Come on over to the website and vote no then. Put your (play) money where your mouth is. I could see it being Gasly, but I think Alpine are slipping at the moment - Don't think they'll get points this weekend.
My theory is Stroll. With the adding seeming to wake and him generally being if the tail of Fernando, p8 seems like a likely result. So I'd say, yes, we will have a new 8 the plane finisher for the season.
Anything in particular that's troubling you? I've found most people here are really positive and will try to offer advice. I'm not really tech savvy, but if you've got any questions, I'll try and help.
Threads is the new Facebook-owned twitter come. It uses the activity pub protocol and is therefore part of the fediverse.
People are concerned that Facebook with embrace the fediverse, enhance it with me features (as they will be the largest developers on the platform) and then either deliberately or because no-one can keep up with their development extinguish it.
