I'm pretty sure that trademarks were invented so companies could prevent confusion like this by using the legal system. That way no-one can try profiting off a similar branding, and no-one can harm their reputation by making poor products apparently in another company's name. W3C has a trademark registration for their name. https://www.w3.org/trademarks/
When I booted into Windows 8.1 on my 2016 desktop computer, it immediately destroyed my boot loader for Ubuntu making it impossible to boot. I can't confirm if it was BIOS or UEFI though. I had to use a convoluted technique to restore the boot loader for it to load Ubuntu afterwards each time I ran Windows.
There's like an ad every paragraph or two on sites like these. Then apparently that's not enough so they have auto-playing video ads and pop-up ads too. Do they seriously think people will tolerate this and not go off the website?
I remember when at my 2-4 grade school my teachers talked about "x-ing" out of programs and applications on a computer instead of closing. Something like this would be a surprise.
Wait, prison time for telling someone else how to bypass a subscription to a non-digital item? I thought the guy getting two years in prison for "copyright infringement" by streaming a video game online was too much!
Is making cars like 10x times as expensive as it was in 2005? Games justify greed mongering technique like that by their companies claiming they take much more money to make than they did in 2005 when the switch to $60 dollar big budget games happened.
What's up with the pronoun thing? Why is gender suddenly replaced with saying they/them?
