  • Thanks! I'll stick to the RAID 1 option then. I was looking at S3 Glacier for backup when it comes to that. But I really don't want to worry about it too much until I've really got something going that I plan to use longer term.

  • I see the appeal with unRAID! My drives are pretty straight forward though I pretty much only plan to use the 2 4TB drives. Will probably skip the RAID for now (it's not going to store anything SUPER important) and just use it as a hobby test server.

Ollama of course! Looks like the 1080s should be able to handle most 7B models. Exciting! Thanks for the help and suggestions!

  • Pretty sure it has 2 HDD bays, so I was thinking I would do something similar to the Synology Hybrid RAID on a 4TB drive. On retrospect though this might be way too crippling of a move for a play server, so I might forgo the RAID idea.

The Linux Upskill Challenge looks perfect! I feel comfortable with about 40% of the table of contents. Should be a fun weekend of experimenting.

    Thanks for the help!

  • This is frankly not a huge issue, but in the iOS app, sometimes pulling down to refresh doesn’t remove read posts. I also have the setting that shows the button to remove seen posts. Tapping on it doesn’t seem to do anything. When this happens, I just close the app entirely and try again.

This is literally the only problem I have with Voyager. The app is otherwise perfect. Thanks for the incredible work!

  • I’m not disagreeing with your suggestion, but in that situation what would actually happen over the short term is prices would stay the same for much longer. Which is healthy for an economy.

Over a longer term people will make more money and $10 eggs won’t feel as expensive.

It’s not as exciting of a proposition, which is why most people don’t bother explaining it.

  • What the average American doesn’t understand is that

    1. The government only has control over inflation when it comes to prices
    2. Controlling inflation only controls the RATE of rising prices

Once prices are up, they don’t go down because prices always go up over time in a healthy economy.

  • Wakfu. MMO in a kinda cutesy animation style. Combat is turn based, very final fantasy tactics (which I enjoy), and actually quite complex. You can spend ages min maxing your build.

There’s an actual lore and storyline (and crazy enough an entire TV show). Harvesting and crafting professions that are fun and useful. A kind of player housing. Mounts. All shop items are cosmetic or resets only.

It’s a great game that’s been around for a long time and isn’t going anywhere.
