  • I can also add that if you want to run multiple programs that each have a web interface it's easy to direct each interface to the port you want instead of having to go through various config files that are different for each program or worst case having to change a hardcoded port in some software. With docker you have the same easy config options for each service you want to run. Same with storage paths. Various software stores their files at seemingly random places. With docker you just map a folder and all you files are stored there without any further configs.

  • Addons on HAOS are just Docker containers. When you use HA in Docker you have to just install the addons you like yourself as containers next to HA. It gives you more freedom to change settings for the "addons" when you install them yourself, but it is also a little more work. I think it is still worth it because you can also just install whatever you want. I run a minecraft server for example on the same server.

  • That's why it has a safety valve. And trust me it works perfectly. Actually if you have an original you. Can use the edge of a knife or spatula to carefully pull the valve out a bit as it builds pressure. Then you can get a sense of what kinds of pressure you are dealing with and hopefully feel safe that the valve works. Just he super careful and don't keep you hand close. The type of valve is patented and can only be found on the original. Copies uses a different type of valve that you cannot actuate like this.

  • Haha no I'm not but sometimes I wish. I wrote my instructions in the post so you can do it yourself as well if you want.

  • I have an induction stove so very little heat ever reaches the rubber band. I use a little metal plate under the mokka pot to make it work since aluminium doesn't work on induction. It you have a gas stove I can imagine it might deteriorate faster but as someone else also wrote, rubber has a very high melting point.

  • Hahaha YES! That lid is a total design flaw on the small one since it refuses to stay open so I can see when the coffee comes out. On the bigger ones it can stay open by itself

  • Damn that's inconvenient!

Do you have size difference one your motorbike licenses at least so you can get a smaller one like in EU. Here we have 3 sizes and the access to them are depended on age and experience from the smaller size. The smallest one is iirc max 13 Hp. It's still a lot more than a moped I know so doesn't really answer the issue.

  • Lol... You are not even trying to argue your case. Why are you getting personal? No need to be like that.

  • Instant like... Me too. I make mokka many times a week and it's my absolute favorite.

A double mokka shot (looks like same size you have there) and a nice amount of hot steamed milk gives the perfect cappuccino. I'd take that everyday over espresso made coffees and i can not explain exactly why I find it so much better.

  • Well sometimes it is.. very much subjective... That's why different countries have different laws. Each country have subjective views on what should be punished or not and how much punishment is right. If Ethics is always objective and like a maths equation that can be solved we should all just have the same laws because it's objective.

  • I agree but yet here we are... And I don't think just putting people in jail helps. But it should definitely have consequences, that's for sure, but they must first be effective for what they are trying to solve.

  • I think it is naive to think that only selfless and competent people will take the role then. If properly competent you'd see the massive risk of jail and be highly discouraged to take the position. Noone in their right mind would risk jailtime for a job position.

On the other hand, billionaires, risktakers and gamblers would be more than willing to take such a role for the power it gives. They don't really care since billionaires manage their risks with all the money they have, and risktakers and gamblers simply just dont care about it untill it hits them.

    So it solves nothing

  • Then who do you suggest should be in power instead? I'm just asking because I would not know. To me personally they will always be a "rando"

  • Just to play Devils advokat here: Wouldn't that just completely discourage anyone from taking up a new CEO or similar role since you are now liable for some illegal activities that might have happened without your knowledge and long time ago.

You would at least need very good evidence beyond reasonable doubt that the person in question actively put into motion the illegal activity and knew that it was illegal.

Placing blame on a single individual might feel satisfying but does not nessesarly punish the correct responsible. When cooperations get as large as Nvidia, Intel etc. it functions in my opinion like one giant complex organism and legal issues like these are often systemic and involves hundreds of people who took decisions.

I think massive and progressive fines are in fact a good tool because it punishes the "organism" that is truly to blame and not an individual who might be to blame.

  • I added Debian to my mom's new laptop. I cannot rely on windows having a stable desktop environment and interface anymore which is crucial for my mom to be able to use it.

  • Damn. I though i was just getting in to a nice new hobby, but apparently I'm just getting old.
