  • You forgot the third, less plausible explanation: General was talking shit about Putin, did not realize that Vladimir Vladimirovich is always listening.

  • I have not been able to find decent jersey knit bed sheets since my local Bed Bath and Beyond closed down (and it was one of the first locations to go).

I can get some at Walmart or Target, but they are not going to be soft and will not last long. I have tried to order online, but even purchasing from a big name brand, they ended up lower quality and higher price than Walmart.

I have had luck with Home Goods, but their selection is always a bit of a gamble.

  • Will that be confusing? Nintendo released the Game Boy Micro (only plays Game Boy Advance cartridges) after the DS (DS and GBA cartridges). I don't think too many people were confused.

To avoid confusion, Nintendo should name their next system something other than Switch 2, Switch Next, or something else with Switch in the name. Then again, I cannot understand the Xbox naming convention is a bit nonsense but no one is out rioting in the streets.

  • And CD Project Red has the right to sue those publishers.

Of course, if they do and the other side chooses to fight, they will have to explain to a judge why the trademark was granted to them despite a mountain of prior art describing games as cyberpunk.

  • Just because they are not openly pursuing enforcement does not mean that they will not. Just the audacity to trademark a generic term widely used in media discussion makes me think that they are being represented by scumbag lawyers.

  • Humble (the company that sells Bundles) has some games listed as DRM free games in their store. Never bought individual games from them, but I have gotten DRM free games in their bundles.

Also, fuck GOG. They are owned by CD Project Red, the piece of shit lawyers who trademarked the term cyberpunk.

  • As an older fan, because historically, dubs were utter crap. Until about 20 years ago, only kids anime got dubbed and when it was that version would be edited and censored. Some companies would also put out a parallel uncensored release and if one was available, it would be subs only.

Even when you started to get older teen anime dubbed, the voice casting tended to be pretty bad.

  • Not in the eyes of the law, especially when the accuser has a large and well funded legal department and you are a working class retiree.

  • What the collectors did is not media piracy, but actual theft. According to the article, the people who have these episodes are former BBC workers who would dig through the media disposal cart and help themselves to anything that looked interesting. It is a victimless crime, but it definitely meets the definition of theft.

It has been long enough that they are likely outside of the statute of limitations, so they are not likely to face criminal consequences, but they are afraid that the BBC will send goons to trash their homes looking for more "stolen property".

  • The article itself seems quite factual and straightforward. The comment section on the other hand…

  • Not even the Google search team. You can no longer negate search terms in Google or Bing or DuckDuckGo. Any suggestions for a better search engine?

  • Water is best served at a bit below room temperature (maybe 50° F/10° C). I don't want my teeth hurting and my throat frozen. Also, waiters should be good around and refilling water glasses, not dropping off my food and GTFO until I am done eating.

  • Why is "with ice" the default option for drinks in the US? For beverages, the restaurant is saving money, but for water?

  • Serious question, why not? Do they produce some harmful flicker or something?

  • Assuming you merge instances, how would moderation work, especially if mods cannot agree on rules or interpretations? What about instance specific rules? Would a post be moderated by whatever instance the OP posted from?

If the mods have to agree on rules, you have the same exact asshole mod problem but now with extra name squatting.

  • Except even on Reddit we saw large communities split due to some issue (for example r/questionablecontent and r/QContent, one has 13k and the other has 5.3k subs).

  • You are right, I was a cynical ass. I apologize.

What I should have said is:

Adding more or taxes or higher taxes is likely to primarily hit the working upper class. It will not affect the super rich. If we want a tax system that actually makes the most wealthy pay their fair share, we need to close tax loopholes and creative accounting schemes.

  • For the communities I have searched for, both "Hot" and "Active" sort are bad (the main community about a topic is barely top 5, no other relevant results at the top of the list). When I switch to Top Year, I start to get good results.
