Douglas Adams is undoubtedly one of the greatest writers of the period.

He is known for light, surrealistic science fiction comedy, not a genre generally considered "high art" but his mastery of language is superb. He is a master of analogies in a way that is both funny but also makes the reader think about the roles and conventions of symbolism in language.

Right, I forgot that LinkedIn calls contacts "connection", doesn't it? I meant it in the sense of messaging them.

I have it for talking to past coworkers (in case I need a reference or want to discuss equity or something) and for talking to recruiters when I am looking for a job. My past two jobs I heard about via LinkedIn messages.

LinkedIn is one of the few sites where I use my real name. It is for connecting with past and future coworkers, so they get my real identity.

I could see Pokemon Legends Z-A being the Switch swan song, one last AAA release for the giant install base. It could also be launched along side a new ultra-budget version of the Switch (like the GBA Micro and Wii Mini).

Pokemon games have come out for previous gen systems. Crystal (GB) did got its international release after the GBA. Same thing for Emerald (GBA) not coming out in most markets until after the DS. Black and White 2 (DS) came out in 2012 while the 3DS came out in 2011. Ultra Sun and Moon (3DS) came out 6 months after the Switch.

If Nintendo does allow a major release on a previous generation system, it could be a sign that their current/coming soon (post-Switch) system has robust backwards compatibility.

Note, that is not 154 random people on the street. That is 154 US academics specializing in presidential politics, a much smaller total population.

Making unique systems is part of Nintendo's identity. Xbox and PlayStation compete on maximizing specs and slowly evolving features (though even they throw in one or two gimmicks per generation). Nintendo competes on creating new experiences that draw in people outside of core gamers. The Wii was about using motion controls to draw in people who don't want to waggle a joystick. The WiiU was about asymmetrical user experience. The Switch (like the GameCube) is about bringing the games to social situations (the opposite of other systems emphasis on online gaming).

Overall, as someone who is not a hardcore gamer, I love the Nintendo philosophy. It encourages developers to experiment with the hardware and create novel interactive experiences.

I am not saying that you are wrong for wanting a more powerful system, but I would be disappointed with a Nintendo system that does not have a big gimmick.

As someone born in the Russia, I support Zelensky looking at the old borders of the Kievan Rus.

This could mean that there is a new game coming (I hope), but it most likely (also) means that they are gearing up to port all of the Ace Attorney games to a new system. I love the series, but they really squeeze every cent out of it.

Hopefully they will port the game engine and then feel confident enough to release a new game.

Reddit/Lemmy is like a forum, but bad. They don't have a good way to see unread additions to a thread, making long discussions impossible.

I always find it weird when people complain about getting banned by "power tripping mods". I have only had a few encounters with a moderator who I thought was being overly obsessive about arbitrary rules. Most of my time, I did not care to resubmit contents to a group who did not want to see it anyways. The few times that I did, I carefully tried to address the moderators objections and my repost was allowed.

Sure, there are definitely some idiots who are obsessed with their perfect view of what should be said on a forum, but most of the time that I have seen, it is a user who cannot act right and doubles down on their stupid when they get called out on it.

Having to crawl through multiple menus to order is not that big of a deal for restaurants. They don't value your time, they value their staff time (because they have to pay for it). There is probably very little ongoing cost to double the number of order kiosks while every additional human taking orders needs to be paid minimum wage. The restaurant owner watches with hate as their money slowly melts away while you decide if you want pickles, fried onions, and jalapenos on your burger.

Technically yes, the Switch was announced less than half a year before release, but Nintendo had been talking about it for much longer. In March 2015, that DeNA was helping them develop online play for an upcoming console codenamed the Nintendo NX. In April 2016, they announced the planned release month for the NX: March 2017. They made a soft announcement for the console two years before release and announced a planned release date almost a year before. Granted, during the Wii U era, Nintendo was probably more open with plans than they would have liked to be to keep up investor confidence.

Nintendo has yet to talk about their plans for their next console. All we have heard is rumors that a Nintendo employee was shown off a prototype in a convention hotel room and that certain major developers have new dev kit.

I assume that it is too late to launch this summer. Systems are almost always announced at least 1 year in advance while Nintendo has yet to confirm that they have a design done for their next system.

That is a very bold assertion.

I just assume that the Nintendo first party games tend to sell well and sell for a long time, so when they stop getting manufactured, they all sell out and still have a bit of demand left that scoops up used copies. They are not making Madden or Call of Duty, which sell well for a year and then everyone is looking to sell last year's version.
