To be honest the most critical thing to have is coverage for other drivers and medical on yours.

Somebody gets hurt and 10 or 25k isn’t going to cover anything and you don’t want to have your wages garnished to cover the difference.

This especially applies when you don’t have a huge paycheck because you can afford to lose a percentage of your paycheck less than most people.

I think Secure boot is intended to check that the boot loader itself is signed.

This is a way to mitigate viruses and malware that infects the boot loader so it can reinstall itself if it’s removed by AV, or something else.

If you can create a boot loader that is signed in such a way that secure boot can’t tell it’s invalid then you can do some nasty stuff.

Closest analogy I can think of is verisigns private key being leaked and there’s no fast and easy way to revoke and replace it without wreaking havoc on currently installed OS’s machines.

Not sure if this is always an issue or just during some recovery period but I can see how it would be important not to stress the fragile ligaments and other issues post op until the proper time.

And in the case of a 3d printer after so many seconds of now power what id use one for would be to cut off the bed and hotend, list the head and then run the part cooling fan full blast until power went out.

The print would be ruined but less likely to have heat creep and jams when the power goes out leaving the existing melted plastic to wick up into the heat break when the cooling fan goes out. And less likely, but technically possibly, the nozzle, still not sitting on one piece of plastic with enough heat to scorch or worse.
