  • Even if it was someone desperate for money, they still tried to sell a very dangerous drug to another human. That’s not ok, in my opinion.

That’s where I draw the line: if you’re only harming yourself you need help. If you’re trying to fuel others’ addiction, it’s jail. At most if it’s clear that the person has a huge drug issue you could force the rehabilitation center in that case as well (but again, the first time. If you still sell meth after that you’re asking for it).

  • Imagine the complaints about racism if that happened today.

As an Italian, I just think it’s cool that we have a “separate” subgenre, doesn’t matter how it’s called.

  • The government is fascist, the electorate is just dumb. Doesn’t help that we have nearly 40% abstention rate, last election the people who didn’t vote were more than the votes for the winning coalition.

  • Not all ugly people are bad, but bad people are definitely ugly (short being ugly, of course).

Well there’s only one bad person in Shrek 1, so that’s not really a good sample. If we move to the sequels there’s Charming who’s good looking but also an ass.

  • People can have “real political views” that are different from yours, y’know.

I think they’re crazy as well, but thinking they’re all just teenagers who don’t know any better is naive. Especially if you look at the US, you should know it’s full of adults with really horrible political views.

  • I didn’t mean it to be a jab at the users, but I might’ve written it too ambiguously.

Obviously in most cases it’s better when something you read on the internet is short and concise: my gripe was with a lot of news sites (and, in this case Peterson) who do the exact opposite of that to seem smarter. The “joke” was that it’s a behavior learned in school, where the more you write the better, even if you could’ve expressed the same concept in a much shorter way.

  • I think my comment was misunderstood: it was kind of a half-joke about Peterson’s writing.

Everyone learned to make their concept as long as possible in school because they were better-received, and that’s what Peterson is doing: talking in the most convoluted way possible to make his otherwise bland ideas feel smart.

  • Putting aside the fact that it’s basically victim blaming, he went further:

“If [a close friend] says a swear word against my mother, he’s going to get a punch in the nose”

What happened to “turning the other cheek”? Does that not count when someone makes the horrible crime that is satire on religion? Hypocrisy at its finest, no better way to describe it.

  • If your whole selling point is “Yeah, things are still gonna be shit for you, but at least we’re not Nazis!” then at some point you’re going to lose again.

Exactly what happened in Italy. Why is the left all over the world unable to present an actually competent and charismatic candidate?
